Charlize Theron Joins Nolan's Odyssey—But Hasn't Filmed a Scene

Charlize Theron is officially playing Circe in Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey—and apparently, she's the last one to show up.
At her annual Africa Outreach Project Block Party, Theron confirmed to Variety that she hasn't even stepped on set yet. When asked what it was like walking onto set, her answer was blunt:
"I haven't," she said. "I leave in a couple of weeks."
She'll be playing Circe, the sorceress from Homer's epic who famously turns Odysseus' men into animals and keeps him stuck on her island. When asked how she's preparing for the role, Theron didn't pretend to have it all figured out:
"I don't know. I'm just going to talk to Chris about it and we'll see where it goes," she said. "It's super intimidating. I'm like the last one to show up. So, I'll be like the new kid on the block, and everybody will know what they're doing and not me."
Meanwhile, filming has been underway since February, and Nolan's already got his Greek myth gang assembled. Matt Damon is playing Odysseus, and he's already been spotted in full costume. Tom Holland has also been filming on location in Greece, and Zendaya wrapped her scenes in March—right after pulling an overnight shoot for Euphoria Season 3 and hopping a flight to Italy. Casual.
The film is currently set to hit theaters in July 2026, which gives Theron plenty of time to catch up—though showing up last to a Nolan set sounds like being late to a chess tournament where everyone else already memorized the board. Good luck to her.
