Charlie Cox Drops Major Hint About Daredevil Joining the New Avengers

Daredevil star Charlie Cox says he’s ready to suit up with the New Avengers, teasing how Matt Murdock’s street-level grit and moral code could shake up Earth’s mightiest team.
Charlie Cox is absolutely up for tossing Daredevil into the New Avengers mix. Matt Murdock? He'd need some convincing. Classic Matt.
Cox wants in, Matt might not
At GalaxyCon New Orleans 2025, the 'Treason' star talked about how his street-level vigilante might handle getting drafted into a big, glossy Avengers lineup. Short version: the man behind the mask is into it; the man in the mask would grumble first.
"I think Matt Murdock would kind of think about it. He is a lone wolf; he likes to work by himself. He is a reluctant kind of team-up guy, I think. A bit like Frank Castle is."
"Charlie Cox would be absolutely thrilled. I would be chomping at the bit to do that."
That tracks. Murdock has always read like the guy who patrols his block while the gods and aliens blast each other downtown. And just to temper expectations: there is no official New Avengers roster announced right now. This is Cox, 42, saying he wants the call if (or when) Marvel assembles a new squad. He shared the thoughts with fans in the room, later picked up by Popverse.
Where 'Daredevil: Born Again' stands right now
- Season 2 is filming now. Cameras started rolling on February 28 under the working title 'Out the Kitchen 2' — a very inside-baseball nod to Matt's Hell's Kitchen roots.
- Showrunner Dario Scardapene says Season 2 is set to premiere in March 2026.
- Cast for Season 2 includes Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio, plus Margarita Levieva, Wilson Bethel, Zabryna Guevara, Nikki James, Genneya Walton, and Arty Froushan.
- Marvel has already greenlit Season 3. TV and Streaming boss Brad Winderbaum confirmed a third season is a go, with production expected to start next year. Plot and casting details are being kept quiet for now.
So, will the Devil of Hell's Kitchen suit up next to the New Avengers? We are not there yet. But Cox is clearly ready to trade the alleyways for an upstate mansion if Kevin Feige makes the call. In the meantime, we are getting a whole lot of Hell's Kitchen before any roll call on a new team.
