The network has broken some disappointing news.

Established in September 1927, CBS will be celebrating its one-hundredth anniversary in a few years. As one of the oldest and largest American broadcasting networks, it has given us hits like NCIS, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, and Survivor. And now the network has unveiled its schedule for this fall.

The ongoing WGA-SAG-AFTRA strike has rendered CBS's programming lineup unrecognisable. As a result, we won't officially see the return of our favourite shows for the first part of the 2023-2024 season. Check out the schedule for yourself if you don't believe us!

September:

14th – Buddy Games

16th – 48 Hours

17th – 60 Minutes

17th – Yellowstone

25th – NCIS 20th Anniversary Marathon

27th – Survivor

27th – The Amazing Race

29th – Blue Bloods (Classics)

Surprisingly, despite renewals for their seventh and twenty-first seasons, Young Sheldon and NCIS won't return this fall. Instead, new seasons of game and reality shows are on the horizon, along with reruns of CBS's classic series. Notably, Yellowstone is back for the second half of its fifth and final instalment – potentially to wrap it up once and for all. Compared to past schedules, this one feels less exciting.

October:

2d – The Price Is Right at Night

2d – Loteria Loca

3d – FBI True

13th – Raid the Cage

October won't feature any new fictional dramas or comedies either. The latest season of CBS's docuseries FBI True is set to debut alongside some new game shows. In contrast, October 2022 welcomed new seasons of beloved procedural dramas such as CSI and NCIS, as well as fresh offerings like Fire Country.

November:

2d – SEAL Team

3d – Let's Make a Deal

16th – Ghosts (UK)

Fortunately, November will introduce SEAL Team's seventh season. Beyond that, no new fictional series will be premiering. Even the American adaptation of Ghosts, which garnered success for CBS and earned a third-season renewal, will be supplanted by its original British counterpart, produced by the BBC (CBS's partner in the US). While the debut of the original Ghosts is noteworthy, it doesn't compensate for what promises to be a lacklustre fall season.
