CBS Delayed Blue Bloods Season 14 and Now They Want Fans' Help
We know which episodes will air in fall. But in what order?
For the past 13 years, CBS' beloved police procedural Blue Bloods has never failed to treat its audience to new Reagan family storylines starting in September/October. The only delay occurred in the COVID-marked 2020 and saw Season 11 premiere on December 4.
This year, however, will be different. The WGA strike, which began in May, and the ensuing SAG-AFTRA actors' strike have kept work on the upcoming Season 14 from starting, and the premiere date still remains up in the air. As a result, saddened Blue Bloods fans are bracing themselves for a fall without Reagans' famous Sunday dinners and new storylines revolving around the crime-fighting family.
However, CBS will not deprive viewers of Blue Bloods content entirely, as Tom Selleck and company will return to the screens in the reruns. And we already know which episodes will air.
CBS plans reruns, asks fans to weigh in
With 275 episodes aired during the first 13 seasons, the network has a large selection of stories to choose from to show in the usual Blue Bloods slots this fall. However, CBS has decided not to pick the episodes at random or just repeat the previous season. They are asking for your help.
Until September 8, fans can vote for their favorite Blue Bloods episodes on the network's official Facebook account.
The CBS post gives viewers the opportunity to vote for one or more of ten classic Blue Blood episodes handpicked by the network, including five season finales. Facebook users can vote by commenting on a still from their favorite episode. The list includes:
Season 1, Episode 22: The Blue Templar
Season 4, Episode 3: To Protect and to Serve
Season 5, Episode 22: The Art of War
Season 8, Episode 22: My Aim is True
Season 9, Episode 22: Something Blue
Season 10, Episode 14: The Fog of War
Season 10, Episode 19: Family Secrets
Season 11, Episode 12: Happy Endings
Season 11, Episode 16: Justifies the Means
Season 12, Episode 6: Be Smart or Be Dead
According to CBS, the reruns will begin on Friday, September 29, with the least voted episode and count down to the most popular. So far, 'The Blue Templar' is leading by a wide margin.
If you didn't find your favorite episode in the list, don't be discouraged. All previous seasons of Blue Bloods are available on many streaming platforms, including Hulu, Paramount Plus, Prime Video and more. So you can always organize a heartwarming rewatch of the show's best episodes on your own.
