Cashero Episode Count Revealed — Here’s Your Binge Plan
Netflix powers up 2025 with Cashero, a South Korean superhero drama adapted from the hit webtoon and led by Lee Jun-ho as an everyman who suddenly gains superpowers. Netflix hasn’t revealed the episode count, but MyDramaList points to an eight-episode run.
Netflix has a Korean superhero show on the way that actually sounds like it knows exactly what it wants to be. It is called Cashero, it is based on a hit webtoon, and it drops right at the end of 2025. The hook is weird in a good way, the cast is stacked, and the episode count (assuming it holds) is mercifully short.
Release plan and episode count (the short version)
Cashero is set to premiere globally on Netflix on December 26, 2025. It is a binge drop — all episodes arrive at once. Netflix has not publicly stated the exact episode count yet, but MyDramaList currently lists 8 episodes. If that number sticks, it is a tighter run than the typical 12–16 episode K-drama season, which hopefully means minimal filler and a story that gets to the point. No word on a Season 2; for now, the expectation is that this first run tells a complete story in those eight.
The premise (money really does equal power)
Lee Jun-ho plays Kang Sang-ung, a very normal civil servant who wakes up superpowered — with a catch. His strength scales with how much cash he has on him. Literally. The more money he carries or spends, the stronger he gets. The kicker: every time he uses that strength, his money drains. Punch harder, pay more.
So he does what any budget-conscious hero would do: he loops in his longtime girlfriend Kim Min-sook (spelled Min-suk in some materials), played by Kim Hye-jun. She is razor-sharp with numbers, which helps because their relationship quickly turns into a joint checking account for justice. Every fight becomes a cost-benefit analysis. It is a clever, very contemporary spin on superheroics — and yes, there is social commentary baked right into the premise.
He is not the only one
The show widens out fast. There is Byeon Ho-in, a lawyer whose powers only kick in when he is drunk — and the stronger the buzz, the stronger the ability. He clocks what Sang-ung can do and tries to recruit him to take on a secretive group called the 'Criminal Association', which hunts down people with powers.
They also team up with Bang Eun-mi, a telekinetic who adores pastries and whose abilities scale with her caloric intake. More sweets, more telekinesis. Together, this improbable trio squares off against the Criminal Association to keep everyday life from getting steamrolled.
Who is making it
Cashero is directed by Lee Chang-min, with a script by Lee Jane and Jeon Chan-ho. It is adapted from the Kakao Webtoon of the same name by Team Befar.
Cast and characters
- Lee Jun-ho as Kang Sang-ung — an ordinary civil servant whose power is pegged to how much cash he is carrying.
- Kim Hye-jun as Kim Min-sook (also seen as Min-suk) — Sang-ung's longtime girlfriend, a pragmatic numbers whiz who keeps their heroics on budget.
- Kim Hyang-gi as Bang Eun-mi — a telekinetic whose strength rises with her calorie intake; also a big pastry person.
- Kim Byung-chul as Byeon Ho-in — a lawyer whose superpowers activate only when he is drunk, scaling with his level of intoxication.
- Kang Han-na and Lee Chae-min — part of a supporting subplot involving a chaebol (yep, wealthy family drama is in the mix).
Bottom line
A bingeable drop at the tail end of the year, a premise that literally makes you pay for power, and a team-up that includes a drunk lawyer and a pastry-fueled telekinetic — Cashero sounds like sharp, genre-twisty fun with something to say. I am in.
