Bridgerton star Genevieve Chenneour, who plays Clara Livingston, says she was attacked in London again, posting that it happened on her way to an audition and involved a man in his 50s.
Rough update out of London: Genevieve Chenneour, who played Clara Livingston in Bridgerton season 3, says she was attacked on the street on her way to an audition. Yes, again.
What happened this time
Chenneour posted a video saying the incident went down near Oxford Circus in central London, just minutes before her audition. She says a man she did not know walked up, singled her out, and hit her. According to her description, he looked about 50 years old, around 6-foot-3, Black, and was wearing a dark hat with all-black clothing.
'Literally five minutes before my audition, I was walking around the corner at Oxford Circus, and this guy just looks at me, and targets me, and f**king hits me.'
This is the second time this year she has been the victim of a crime in the city, and she went public about it immediately after it happened.
The earlier incident that shook her up
Back on February 8, 2025, Chenneour says she was sitting in a cafe when an 18-year-old, later identified in court as Zacariah Boulares, tried to steal her iPhone 14. She confronted him, it turned into a scuffle, and she says he threatened to stab her multiple times. She ended up with a concussion and later dealt with severe anxiety and panic attacks. Boulares was arrested and received a 22-month prison sentence. The whole thing rattled her enough that she left London for a bit to stay with her mom. After returning, she says this new assault happened on the way to that audition.
- Feb 8, 2025: Attempted phone theft in a cafe; confrontation; threats to stab; Chenneour sustained a concussion and later struggled with anxiety and panic attacks. The perpetrator, 18-year-old Zacariah Boulares, was sentenced to 22 months in prison.

Work-wise, where she stands
Chenneour appeared in five episodes of Bridgerton season 3 in 2024 as Clara Livingston. Season 4 is slated for 2026, but there is no word yet on whether she will be back. She does have two projects lined up: The Impending White Light and The Higher Path.
Given everything she has been through in London this year, nobody would fault her for stepping back, regrouping, and prioritizing her health for a bit.
