Netflix has unveiled the first extended trailer for Bridgerton Season 4, confirming the show’s next grand romance: Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie. Adapting Julia Quinn’s An Offer From a Gentleman, the footage teases a sumptuous, Cinderella-coded love story set to steal the season.

Netflix just dropped the first real look at Bridgerton Season 4, and, finally, it is Benedict time. The show is leaning hard into a Cinderella vibe for him, and the timeline is set: the roll-out starts in 2026. Yes, that far away.

Benedict finally gets the spotlight

Season 4 shifts the focus to the second son, Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), who has been dodging marriage while his siblings pair off. That resolve wobbles when a mysterious Lady in Silver catches his eye at his mother’s masquerade ball. The season is adapting Julia Quinn’s 'An Offer From a Gentleman', which makes Benedict’s romance the emotional center of this chapter.

The trailer setup

The preview opens with Penelope Featherington checking in with Queen Charlotte as the new debutante season launches. Lady Whistledown is sharpening her quill for another pamphlet, and the show nods directly to its roots with a very familiar opening.

"You must begin the proper way!"

"Dearest Gentle Reader."

From there, the narration makes it clear Benedict won’t be able to dodge maternal pressure forever. Enter Sophie Baek, and the tone shifts from wry to wistful.

Meet Sophie Baek

Yerin Ha plays Sophie Baek, the illegitimate daughter of the Earl of Penwood. By day, she works as a servant in the household of Araminta and her daughters; by night, she dreams about the ball she will never be allowed to attend. With a little help from fellow servants, she sneaks into Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade anyway and meets Benedict.

Midnight hits, and she bolts, convinced he is chasing a fantasy version of her — the allure of 'the lady in the silver gown' — not the real person. He then goes hunting for the mystery woman, glove in hand, as their connection tries to survive secrets and class lines. It is very Cinderella-coded, with the slipper swapped for a glove.
