Brace Yourself: Nick Mohammed Says the Slow Horses Season 5 Finale Will Be Explosive and Intense

Mohammed signals the real drama is still ahead, promising twists and turns to come.
Slow Horses has a habit of going out with a bang. Season 3 gave us that brutal file-storage facility set piece. Season 4 literally brought the fight to Slough House. And now season 5 is lining up another big finish. Consider this your heads-up to clear the finale night.
Nick Mohammed says the ending goes big
Nick Mohammed (yep, Nate from Ted Lasso) jumps into the chaos this season as Zahar Jaffrey, the Mayor of London. Speaking to RadioTimes.com at an An Evening With Radio Times screening at the BFI, he teased what he is most excited for fans to see: the ending, obviously.
"I think everyone will appreciate that Slow Horses ends in quite an explosive way and there are lots of twists and turns. And this season definitely does do that as well. There is a pretty intense action sequence at the end."
About that mayor: not Sadiq Khan, but you will make the connection
During the event Q&A, Mohammed said comparisons to the real Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, are inevitable. The character was written a while back, but parts of the storyline feel uncomfortably current now. He stressed Jaffrey is not modeled on one person. Politically, he leans left, but he is hardly a saint: he is vain, loves a podium, loves the sound of his own voice, and will use any opportunity to score points. Mohammed called him dynamic and complicated, basically a mash-up of various politicians rather than a direct stand-in. Then he cracked, "Can you tell I have been briefed?"
New face, new suspicion
Hiba Bennani also joins season 5 as Tara, the glamorous new girlfriend of resident hacker gremlin Roddy Ho. The moment Slough House hears about her, they start digging, certain something is off. Because of course they do.
When and where
Slow Horses season 5 premieres on Apple TV+ on 24 September 2025.
