Blue Bloods Isn't Over—Boston Blue Could Reunite the Reagans

Blue Bloods might be wrapping up, but Donnie Wahlberg isn't done with Danny Reagan just yet.
CBS is launching a spinoff this fall called Boston Blue, with Wahlberg front and center — and yes, he's already teasing that more Reagan family members could show up.
The setup: Danny takes a job with the Boston P.D. and gets paired with detective Lena Peters, played by Sonequa Martin-Green. She comes from her own law enforcement dynasty, the Silver family, which includes:
- Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, Boston's District Attorney and the matriarch of the clan
- Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters, a respected pastor and the family's moral compass
- Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, rookie cop and younger brother
- A not-yet-cast stepdaughter, Sarah, who's the Boston police superintendent
Basically, it's Boston's version of the Reagans — complete with generational drama, civic duty, and probably a weekly family dinner with better seafood.
Wahlberg has been hyping the show on Instagram, dropping coy replies in the comments.
When fans asked why Danny would ever leave New York, he shot back: "Who said he is?" When someone wished the whole Reagan crew was coming along, he simply said: "Tune in."
So far, no other original cast members are confirmed — but Wahlberg's doing everything short of saying "Yes, they're in it too." Expect cameos, surprise visits, and possibly a few Sunday dinners with some familiar faces.
Boston Blue premieres Fall 2025 on CBS, and while it's technically a spinoff, it might just be the second coming of Blue Bloods. Only now, with chowder.
