Bloodborne Remake Dreams Shattered: Insider Says Don’t Expect It Anytime Soon

Jeff Grubb just dashed hopes for a Bloodborne announcement — don't hold your breath.
If you have been hanging onto hope for a Bloodborne PC port, remaster, or anything with a pulse, here is the reality check: it is not happening anytime soon. I know. I am tired of writing this story too.
Where this latest round of bad news came from
On a recent episode of Jeff Grubb's Game Mess podcast, the conversation drifted to PC ports in general. Giant Bomb co-owner Mike Minotti noted that PC ports seem to have "slowed down a little bit recently," and used Bloodborne as the poster child for stalled momentum.
Minotti's read: Sony cannot move on a Bloodborne PC version unless FromSoftware is directly involved. And FromSoftware, he suggested, is busy. He pointed to the recently released Elden Ring Nightreign and even name-checked a supposed Switch 2 project, The Duskbloods. That last bit is very inside baseball and solidly in rumor territory, but it is what they floated as context for why FromSoft is tied up.
Grubb's read on the situation
Grubb added that, from what he hears, FromSoftware does not want to do this with Sony under the current setup. He framed it like this: anything that would require work beyond FromSoftware itself would need other parties involved, and that is just not happening right now. He said he checked in on the situation recently and the message has not changed.
"Nothing is happening with Bloodborne, so don't expect that."
So what does that mean?
- No active movement on Bloodborne for PC, a remaster, or a remake, per Grubb's latest check-in.
- Sony cannot push a PC port without FromSoftware, and FromSoftware is allegedly tied up with other projects.
- Grubb says FromSoftware does not want to do it with Sony as things stand, which stalls any workaround.
- Translation: if you are waiting for a port, remaster, or the dream sequel, expect a long wait.
Grubb is not infallible, but his track record is generally solid. Unfortunately, that makes this feel pretty credible. If the status changes, I will happily eat crow and update you with better news. Until then, there are plenty of FromSoftware games to keep replaying while we continue our annual ritual of sighing about Yharnam.
