Black Rabbit just hit Netflix, and viewers are zeroing in on what becomes of John Ales’ Jules Zablonski. The Zach Baylin and Kate Susman crime thriller peels back a New York restaurateur’s gilded life—and its finale finally reveals his fate.

Netflix dropped Black Rabbit and, predictably, the internet wants to know what happens to Jules Zablonski. Fair question. The guy is a walking red flag from the jump, and the show is not shy about making that clear. Here is how it plays out, clean and simple.

The setup

From Zach Baylin and Kate Susman, Black Rabbit follows Jake Friedkin, a New York restaurateur living large until his estranged older brother shows up and drags him into a mess of criminal favors and bad choices. It is glossy on the surface, rotten underneath, and it moves fast.

So, what happens to Jules?

Jules is arrested in the finale. The reason is straightforward: Jake turns over video that shows Jules assaulting a bartender named Anna. Once the police investigating Anna's death see that footage, it is game over for Jules.

How we got there

  • Jules Zablonski is a loaded VIP regular at Jake's restaurant, Black Rabbit.
  • He spikes Anna's drink and sexually assaults her. She misses shifts afterward, and Jake fires her for not showing up.
  • Anna tells Roxie what happened. Roxie believes her.
  • Enter Campbell, Jules's fixer. He offers Anna a big payout and a flight out of the country if she keeps quiet. Classic cleanup operation.
  • Before Anna can accept or reject anything, tragedy: Junior breaks into her apartment, tries to force his way into the bathroom, and Anna fatally hits her head. That is how she dies.
  • Campbell then goes to Jake with a $500,000 offer to erase the security footage of the assault. Jake takes the money.
  • Jake funnels that cash to crime boss Joe Mancuso and, while he is at it, pulls the plug on a high-end jewelry heist he had originally plotted with Mancuso's son (also named Joe) and Babbitt. Inside baseball note: yes, there are two Joes, because of course there are.
  • In the end, Jake hands the assault footage to the cop working Anna's case. That evidence triggers Jules's arrest.

The bottom line

Jules does not skate. The cover-up frays, the tape surfaces, and the cuffs come out. It is messy, it is ugly, and it lands exactly where it should.
