Small details like this one can mess up an entire episode for some fans.

Netflix’s Black Mirror has been praised time and time again for its complex plots, captivating episodes, and its ability to explore the dark side of the relationship between humans and technology in a thought-provoking way.

Netflix promised that season 6 of the award-winning sci-fi horror would be the most unpredictable yet, and they weren't lying. However, apart from delivering more unexpected twists, season 6 also came with one very subtle, but infuriating mistake.

Mazey Day is the 4th episode in season 6 and follows Bo, a member of the paparazzi on the hunt for her next payday. Whilst stealthily snapping pics of an actor, Bo is adjusting the camera lens to focus on her subject, while at the same time, the camera is making sounds that indicate that autofocus is locked on. Why would she be fiddling with the lens when it was already automatically focused?

Most non-camera savvy viewers would never have picked up on this, but for anyone that knows their way around those types of cameras, it was pretty annoying. What she was doing made no sense, and fans pointed out that it was a case of, ‘Okay just pretend like you're taking pictures,’ even though the actress very obviously didn’t know what she was doing, at least to those with a keen eye.

It was a small, subtle, and very forgivable mistake, but Black Mirror has shown us time and time again how the internet can twist things. In this case, a small error led to fans going online to discuss the mistake, and everything else they weren't happy about.

Many feel that the 6th installment of the series is focusing too much on the past, and trying to unnecessarily include big-name celebrities, whereas older seasons were set more in the future and fans enjoyed watching relatively unknown actors.

Many fans cite their opinions as ‘unpopular’ but they have garnered plenty of support online, especially with the idea that older seasons were just better.

Is Black Mirror becoming too Hollywood? Rushing to produce and letting small errors like the camera slip through?

The show’s creator, Charlie Brooker, explained that the new season was meant to be more of a fresh start and a reset, hence the shift in the times many of the stories took place. They wanted to give fans something different.

Overall, with the one annoying camera clicking error aside, season 6 of Black Mirror had largely been called one of their best yet, with new stories like ‘Joan is Awful’ and ‘Demon 79’ earning a spot on the list of all-time favorites.
