Big Brother Expels George After Repeated Unacceptable Language and Behaviour

George appears in tonight’s episode — but his comments have been cut.
Well, that escalated quickly. Big Brother has kicked out George Gilbert after a string of warnings for what the show calls unacceptable language and behavior. It is the rare mid-week ejection, and it is immediate.
"Following repeated use of unacceptable language and behaviour, George has been removed from the Big Brother house with immediate effect and will no longer participate in the programme."
What you will and won't see tonight
George will still turn up in tonight's episode, but the comments that got him removed will not. They'll be cut to meet broadcast standards, so expect the edit to skip over the specifics.
How we got here
This wasn't a one-off. George had already been given a formal warning after comments about fellow housemate Sam Ashby. He then picked up additional warnings for language issues that mostly never made it to air. The exception: one warning shown in Monday night's episode (6 October).
On that episode, Big Brother pulled George into the Diary Room to address what happened the night before during a game of Truth or Dare. He was called out for making noises that mimicked how Sam talks and for using a limp-wrist gesture. Big Brother pressed him on why that would be offensive to Sam, the other housemates, and viewers. George said he had already apologized to Sam privately and would tread very carefully around him going forward.
Worth noting for the inside-baseball crowd: most of George's warnings never aired, which is pretty standard when footage runs into compliance issues.
What changes now
- George was already up for eviction this week. That vote is still happening.
- New details on how eviction works now that he's gone will be explained on tonight's Late & Live.
- You'll see George in tonight's main episode, but not the remarks that led to his removal.
Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
