Beloved Disney Franchise Just Announced a Threequel — Fans Are Losing It

Camp Rock is staging a comeback: Disney just announced a third movie that reunites the fan-favorite gang for another jam.
Well, this is not a drill: Disney is hauling us back to Camp Rock. The Jonas Brothers are officially reuniting on screen for Camp Rock 3, and production is already underway. Demi Lovato is involved too, not in front of the camera (at least not announced), but calling shots behind it as an executive producer. For a franchise that basically raised a generation of karaoke kids, that is a big swing.

So what's the new story?
The movie brings the Jonas Brothers back as Connect 3 (their in-universe band). They return to Camp Rock to scout an opening act for a major reunion tour. Naturally, that turns a summer camp into a pressure cooker: plenty of competition, cracked friendships, oddball alliances, some reveals, and yes, a few crushes. If you watched the first two, you know the vibe: big feelings, bigger songs.
Who's back, who's new
Disney rolled out a cast video to mark the announcement, with the brothers celebrating their return and welcoming everyone back to camp. Here's the lineup we're getting this time:
- Jonas Brothers — reprising their Camp Rock roles as Connect 3
- Demi Lovato — executive producer (no acting role announced)
- Liamani Segura as Sage, a driven standout camper
- Hudson Stone as Desi, Sage's laid-back brother
- Lumi Pollack as Rosie, a cello prodigy
- Casey Trotter as Cliff, a drummer with his own rhythm
- Brooklynn Pitts as Callie, the choreography ringleader
- Ava Jean as Madison, an influencer who means business
- Malachi Barton as Fletch, the camp's resident troublemaker
- Maria Canals-Barrera — returning to the franchise
- Sherry Cola — joining the cast
Quick refresher (and why this is a big deal)
The original Camp Rock hit Disney Channel in 2008, starring Demi Lovato as Mitchie alongside Joe Jonas, Meaghan Jette Martin, Maria Canals-Barrera, Daniel Fathers, and Alyson Stoner. It was immediate appointment TV: over 8 million tuned in on premiere night, making it the third-most-watched Disney Channel Original Movie ever, behind High School Musical 2 and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.
Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam landed in 2010, brought Nick and Kevin Jonas fully into the mix, and pulled 7.9 million on its premiere night — the biggest audience for any cable film that year. So yeah, there's history here, and Disney isn't exactly dusting off a forgotten IP.
One little inside-baseball note
If you&aposre wondering: Connect 3 is the brothers&apos in-movie band name. And while Demi is running point as an EP, Disney hasn&apost said whether Mitchie shows up on screen. Given Maria Canals-Barrera is back in the cast, there are some intriguing reunion possibilities, but nothing confirmed beyond what you see above.
Bottom line: Camp Rock 3 is real, it's filming, and the talent mix points to a classic Camp Rock setup with a modern, social-savvy twist. Tune your guitars and warm up those harmonies.
