Belly’s Endgame Revealed: Did She Pick Conrad? The Summer I Turned Pretty Finally Answers

After a Paris–airport cliffhanger, The Summer I Turned Pretty lands its Sept. 17 finale with a decisive answer to the love triangle: Belly chooses Conrad.
We finally have an answer. After Episode 10 left Belly adrift in Paris and Conrad stuck at an airport, the September 17 finale of The Summer I Turned Pretty spells out where this whole triangle was headed. Short version: the show goes full romance-novel ending, and it actually works.
Where Episode 10 left us
Last time out, Belly was trying to build a life in Paris, and Conrad was in transit, hovering between big gesture and backing off. It cuts to black before anyone says what they really mean. Classic.
The surprise (sort of) reunion
In the finale, Conrad flies to Paris to surprise Belly. The second he clocks that she might have moved on, he pivots and pretends he is just in town on the way to a conference in Brussels. It is the 'I wasn’t stalking you, I promise' cover story, and yes, it is very Conrad.
Belly hesitates, then agrees to spend the day with him. She basically becomes his tour guide: streets, landmarks, the whole postcard. The chemistry comes back on its own — no big speeches, just easy conversation and quiet moments — until it is not so quiet. That night, they sleep together.
The morning-after wobble
Right after, Belly pulls away. Conrad, for once, goes all in and tells her how he feels. She pushes back with the question that has haunted them since Susannah:
'What if you only loved me because that's what your mom wanted?'
Conrad does not flinch:
'I have tried everything not to love you. The way that I feel about you has nothing to do with my mom. If I met you for the first time tonight, I would still love you.'
Belly admits she is not sure about anything. He takes the hit, leaves her with a soft goodbye —
'Happy Birthday, Belly'
— and walks away, wrecked.
The choice
It does not take long for Belly to realize her feelings have not changed. She still loves him. Problem: by then, Conrad is already heading out to Brussels for that actual conference. Cue the sprint. Belly races to the train station and catches him before he goes, and she finally says the thing out loud:
'Conrad... I choose you of my own free will. If there are infinite worlds, every version of me chooses you in every one of them.'
That is the moment. They get back together and head home to the Cousins — the show's shorthand for Cousins Beach — as a couple. It is an unabashedly emotional capper, and it closes the series exactly where this story was always aiming: Belly chooses Conrad.
