Roblox Fish It! is flooded with rods, from coin-bought basics to quest-locked heavy hitters—but only a few reel in peak performance. The December 2025 tier list ranks the must-get picks so you can hook the right rod fast.

Fish It! on Roblox gives you way too many fishing rods to obsess over. Some you buy, some you grind quests for, and a few are tucked in weird corners of the map. So here is a clean, straight-shot tier list for December 2025, with exactly what each rod does and how to get it. If a purchase path is odd or a price is goofy, I call that out.

S Tier

Element Rod (Secret)

The big one. 1111% Luck, 130% Speed, and a 900,000 kg pull. It is the highest-stat rod in the game and it is locked behind the Element Quest. You have to do four things: get the Ghostfinn Rod, catch 1 Secret fish in the Ancient Jungle, catch 1 Secret fish in the Secret Temple, and craft 3 Transcended Stones. It is a grind, but this rod ends the conversation once you have it.

Ghostfinn Rod (Mythic)

610% Luck, 118% Speed, 600,000 kg. You earn it from the Deep Sea Quest at the Lost Isle. The checklist: collect 300 Rare/Epic fish in the Treasure Room, catch 3 Mythic fish at the Sisyphus Statue, catch 1 Secret fish at the Sisyphus Statue, and earn 1,000,000 Coins. It is a top-tier rod on its own and also a stepping stone to the Element Rod.

Bamboo Rod (Mythic)

780% Luck, 98% Speed, 500,000 kg. Buy it at the Sacred Temple in the Ancient Jungle for 12,000,000 Coins. Go through the door, then take a right. It is a pricey swipe but an easy S-tier purchase.

Angler Rod (Mythic)

530% Luck, 71% Speed, 500,000 kg. Costs 8,000,000 Coins at the Lost Isle, inside one of the buildings around the giant crater in the middle. Great stats, straightforward buy.

Ares Rod (Mythic)

455% Luck, 56% Speed, 400,000 kg. You can grab it for 3,000,000 Coins from a cave hidden behind a waterfall on Tropical Grove Island. Excellent value for mid-to-late game progression.

A Tier

Astral Rod (Legendary)

350% Luck, 43% Speed, 350,000 kg. Super simple: buy it at Joe's Rods Store on Fisherman Island for 1,000,000 Coins.

Hazmat Rod (Legendary)

380% Luck, 32% Speed, 300,000 kg. Find it at the Travelling Fisherman to the right of the Spin Wheel for 1,300,000 Coins. If it is not in stock, the shop refreshes every 12 hours.

Fluorescent Rod (Legendary)

300% Luck, 23% Speed, 160,000 kg. Two ways to buy: 715,000 Coins at Joe's Rods Store or 685,000 Coins from the Travelling Merchant.

Chrome Rod (Epic)

229% Luck, 23% Speed, 190,000 kg. The lone Epic sitting in A tier because it punches way above its rarity. Buy it at Joe's Rods Store on Fisherman Island for 437,000 Coins.

B Tier

Steampunk Rod (Epic)

225% Luck, 19% Speed, 25,000 kg. Solid early-to-mid-game buy at Joe's Rods Store for 215,000 Coins, though its weight cap is noticeably lower than other keepers.

Angelic Rod (Gamepass)

180% Luck, 29% Speed, 75,000 kg. 399 Robux at Joe's Rods Store. It is the best of the Gamepass trio and weirdly the cheapest of the three.

Midnight Rod (Rare)

100% Luck, 10% Speed, 10,000 kg. A decent stepping stone for 50,000 Coins at Joe's Rods Store on Fisherman Island.

Lucky Rod (Rare)

140% Luck, 7% Speed, 5,000 kg. Great bang for 15,000 Coins early on if you want Luck on the cheap.

Hyper Rod (Gamepass)

130% Luck, 13% Speed, 1,000 kg. Costs 999 Robux. Between the three Gamepass options, you are better off with the cheaper Angelic Rod unless you are collecting.

Gold Rod (Gamepass)

110% Luck, 7% Speed, 800 kg. 445 Robux. Oddly priced higher than Angelic, but the stats are worse. Fine for brand-new players, not a long-term keeper.

C Tier

Ice Rod (Uncommon)

60% Luck, 7% Speed, 750 kg. Costs 5,000 Coins at Joe's Rods Store on Fisherman Island. Not awful for starters, not great beyond that.

Demascus Rod (Common)

80% Luck, 4% Speed, 400 kg. 3,000 Coins at Joe's Rods Store. Works as a very early upgrade, then falls off.

Grass Rod (Common)

55% Luck, 5% Speed, 250 kg. 1,500 Coins at Joe's Rods Store. A sensible step up from the Starter Rod if you are just getting your feet wet.

D Tier

Lava Rod (Uncommon)

30% Luck, 2% Speed, 100 kg. Free from the Kohana Volcano NPC inside the Kohana Volcano. The stats are whatever, but free is free, and that is why it leads D tier.

Carbon Rod (Common)

30% Luck, 4% Speed, 20 kg. 900 Coins at Joe's Rods Store. Fine for the first hour or two; it will not scale.

Toy Rod (Common)

30% Luck, 3% Speed, 18 kg. Free if you like and join the game's group. Not good, but as a zero-cost starter option, it has a purpose.

Luck Rod (Common)

50% Luck, 2% Speed, 15 kg. 250 Coins at Joe's Rods Store. A minimal upgrade that you will replace quickly.

Starter Rod (Common)

0% Luck, 0% Speed, 10 kg. The one you get when you launch the game. The stats are terrible by design, so swap out as soon as you can.

Quick note on the oddities: the Angelic Gamepass rod being cheaper and better than the pricier Hyper and Gold options is exactly as strange as it sounds. Also, Chrome being an Epic with 190,000 kg capacity is a sneaky value play if you are not ready for Legendary prices.

What are you using right now, and what did I underrate? Drop your go-to rod in the comments.
