Battlefield 6 Leak Reveals Six New Modes — Including One That Channels Marvel Rivals
After a shaky launch, Battlefield 6 is rallying fast: six new modes are inbound—including Raid, Payload, and Sabotage—according to InsiderGaming.
Battlefield 6 had a bumpy takeoff, but it has stabilized fast. And now it looks like DICE is already lining up a stack of new modes to keep the servers busy.
Six new modes are on deck (two are dated, four are not)
InsiderGaming pulled new strings from the game files pointing to six additions: Raid, Payload, Sabotage, Squad Shootout, Strikepoint, and Tank Hunt. Only two of those are officially dated so far.
- Strikepoint — launches October 28, 2025 as part of the Season 1 update
- Sabotage — lands November 18, 2025 with the California Resistance update
- Raid — no date yet
- Payload — no date yet
- Squad Shootout — no date yet
- Tank Hunt — no date yet
Where this came from (and the nerdy file paths)
The clues were buried in multiplayer files under Battlefield 6’s internal codename, Glacier. These are the strings that popped up:
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Raid/Mode/MUT_Raid
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Payload/Mode/MUT_Payload
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Sabotage/Mode/MUT_Sabotage
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/SquadShootout/Mode/MUT_SquadShootout
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/Strikepoint/Mode/MUT_Strikepoint
Game/GlacierMP/Gamemodes/TankHunt/Mode/MUT_TankHunt
Translation: Glacier is Battlefield 6, and those folders point directly at the mode names. Simple enough once you know the codename.
Why this matters for how Battlefield 6 plays
Right now you have Conquest, Breakthrough, Rush, and Domination. Solid staples, but not exactly a complete diet if you grind this stuff daily. EA clearly knows that, and the roadmap is already expanding.
The most eyebrow-raising one is Payload. If you have played Overwatch 2’s Escort or Marvel Rivals’ Convoy, you know the drill: one team escorts a moving objective to a destination while the other team does everything possible to stall it out. If Battlefield 6 goes that direction, that is a notable pivot away from its usual large-scale capture-and-hold routine and toward tighter, faster rounds. Honestly, that could be a smart change of pace.
Reality check
Only Strikepoint and Sabotage are confirmed by EA with dates. The other four — Raid, Payload, Squad Shootout, and Tank Hunt — are datamined only. No official comment yet, and plans can shift. When they say something, I will say something.
In the meantime, circle October 28 for Strikepoint and November 18 for Sabotage. And if a Battlefield Payload mode actually hits, expect a lot of chaos in a smaller footprint — in a good way.
