Avengers: Doomsday Unveils Bold New Suit for Fan-Favorite MCU Hero
A fan-favorite MCU hero is suiting up with a fresh look in Avengers: Doomsday, now in post-production under Joe and Anthony Russo and speeding toward U.S. theaters in less than a year, with sequel Avengers: Secret War slated for 2027.
Shang-Chi is getting a wardrobe upgrade. Marvel Studios has Avengers: Doomsday in post right now with Joe and Anthony Russo back at the helm, and the most random place to confirm new costume news turned out to be... the Empire State Building's TikTok. Sure, why not.
In that TikTok, Simu Liu says Shang-Chi has a brand new suit for the movie, and it sounded like even he was thrown by how much it changed from the first film. He called it special and hinted the big-screen reveal will hit hard.
"It is actually a brand new suit. So, it is a completely different suit that fit on me very differently. You know, I showed up to set and was like, 'Oh, yeah, I know how to do this.' And then I see the suit and the pieces and I was like, 'Oh, this is not the same at all.' But, you know, it just goes to show things change. It is really special just to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and be wearing something like that. It is an incredible feeling, and it will be an incredible ride when it comes out in theaters."
Where Doomsday fits and who is in it
Avengers: Doomsday is part of Phase 6 and is currently in post-production. The film is directed by the Russo Brothers and hits US theaters on December 18, 2026. Marvel is following it with Avengers: Secret Wars on December 17, 2027.
