Ash vs Evil Dead and 4 Other Best Zombie TV Series to Binge Before The Last of Us Season 2

Fast, slow, smart and not so smart – in these projects you will see zombies in all their terrible manifestations.
Could there be a zombie apocalypse? Who knows. But it's better to be prepared and to practice your behavior and possible mistakes in advance. Our list includes five different series about the living dead, from a spin-off of a major franchise to Korean dramas.
1. Happiness, 2021
An apartment building becomes the epicenter of an epidemic and is quarantined along with its residents, leaving humans alone with the infected.
The series premiere in January 2021 was already extremely topical in light of the COVID-19 situation, and the eternal question of who is really a monster – a zombie or a human – only adds to the urgency of the project.
You always want to believe that people facing the same problems will act together. But in this house, a monster can hide behind any wall, and it is very exciting to watch the survivors try to protect themselves.
2. Santa Clarita Diet, 2017-2019
A zombie sitcom starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant. The main character has become a living dead who has retained her mind, and now she is forced to eat human flesh that she prepares in advance in the freezer.
This is a truly hilarious comedy that allows you to take a fresh look at the genre. Short half-hour episodes, filled with the chemistry of the star duo, biting dialogue and hilarious satire, are swallowed as quickly as a juicy piece of meat after obsessive thoughts about food.
3. Dead Set, 2008
Before making his legendary Black Mirror, Charlie Brooker made the 2008 miniseries Dead Set, in which a zombie apocalypse unfolds on the air of a British show.
The characters try to survive, not even fully understanding what happened in the world while they were on a reality show for two months. In five short episodes you can enjoy a dynamic and exciting bloody story with black humor.
4. Black Summer, 2019-2021
After the zombie apocalypse begins, Rose joins a group of survivors and tries to find her lost daughter among the hordes of the walking dead.
With rare exceptions, zombie movies and TV shows skip the cold seasons and show the characters surviving in summer. But Karl Schaefer and John Hyams' project defies the stereotype by throwing the survivors into winter – where the cold kills more people than the walking dead.
5. Ash vs Evil Dead, 2015-2018
A TV sequel to the cult franchise Evil Dead created by Sam Raimi. A crazy project where there is a sea of blood, madness, dismemberment and black humor.
Ash, played by the irresistible Bruce Campbell with a chainsaw instead of a hand, protects the world from the possessed and deals with family problems. The show looks like a dream project for fans of the franchise: a direct sequel that takes into account the events of the entire trilogy after copyright issues.
