What to expect from the series' finale?

Despite the controversy Max's The Idol stirred and the numerous negative reviews written about it, the series got us hooked on its plot and we're still following the story of Jocelyn and Tedros as it's getting darker towards the finale of season 1. Episode 4, Stars Belong to the World, shed more light on the toxicity of the two characters' relationship and offered some hints as to what we may expect to see in episode 5.

Seeing how the consensus about the series is that it's a lemon, it probably won't be getting renewed for another season. Given these circumstances the story needs to be wrapped up nice and clean in the upcoming fifth and final episode, without any loose ends or cliffhangers.

Here are five biggest predictions about the series' finale.

5. It will be revealed that Jocelyn was abused by her mother

There have already been several hints at the toxic nature of Jocelyn and her mother's relationship. However, we don't know the extent yet. Consequently, we may expect some revelations about Jocelyn's childhood trauma and the amount of distress her mother caused her.

4. Jocelyn might have had something to do with her mother's death

Another big revelation, related to the previous one, is that Jocelyn might have had a hand in her mother's death. We know her mother was morbidly ill, but given the nature of their relationship, it should probably come as no surprise, should it be revealed that Jocelyn expedited her descent into the grave in one way or another.

3. Jocelyn will become a true star

Jocelyn has already risen to some level of fame – at least, her career is much more impressive than at the beginning of The Idol. Seeing how she continues to masterfully navigate the world of showbiz and use people to her advantage, she may very well reach new professional heights by the end of this season.

2. Tedros will die

Considering his destructive lifestyle, it'll be no surprise if this schemer suddenly dies at the end of The Idol. However, we don't expect Jocelyn to try and push him over the edge as he's more useful to her alive than dead.

1. Jocelyn will become the new cult leader

If Tedros dies, Jocelyn may very well step up as the new pastor of his flock. The followers will likely obey and like her as she's kinder than Tedros but just as charismatic. And, being the leader of the cult can help her further her career in the music business.
