Hell’s Kitchen isn’t done yet: Marvel’s head of TV confirms Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, with cameras rolling next year.

After months of mixed messages, we finally have a straight answer on Daredevil: Born Again. Marvel Studios is making Season 3 for Disney+, and yes, that comes from someone who would know.

"In terms of Daredevil, yeah, we are greenlit for Season 3 and we start shooting next year," Marvel Head of TV, Streaming, Animation Brad Winderbaum told IGN.

Why this matters (and why it was confusing)

Even the people in the suits couldn't keep the story straight for a while. Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio gave different answers about whether a third season would happen, with D'Onofrio basically hedging that the characters would probably be back. Now Winderbaum has locked it in: Season 3 is a go, cameras roll next year.

Where Season 2 is right now

Season 2 is filming and already has a few crowd-pleasers baked in, starting with the return of Krysten Ritter as Jessica Jones. She was spotted on the Born Again set a few months ago, which pretty much sealed that deal. Matthew Lillard (Scream) and Lili Taylor (The Conjuring) are also joining the cast for Season 2.

The inside baseball part

This show has had a wild ride. The original plan was to keep Born Again separate from Netflix's Daredevil, even while bringing back some familiar faces. Then production shut down during the 2023 writers and actors strikes, and Marvel used that pause to tear the thing down and rebuild it.

The reset turned Born Again into a direct continuation of the Netflix series, set five years later. Dario Scardapane (Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, The Punisher) came in as showrunner during that overhaul, and the directing team of Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (they handled multiple episodes of Moon Knight and Loki Season 2) took over as primary directors. The original head writers, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, exited during the shake-up.

The cast so far

  • Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock / Daredevil
  • Vincent D'Onofrio as Wilson Fisk / Kingpin
  • Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson
  • Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page
  • Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle / The Punisher
  • Wilson Bethel as Benjamin 'Dex' Poindexter / Bullseye
  • Ayelet Zurer as Vanessa Marianna Fisk
  • Margarita Levieva as Heather Glenn (Matt's love interest)
  • Michael Gandolfini as Daniel Blade
  • Genneya Walton as BB Urich
  • Jeremy Earl as Cole North (Anti-Vigilante Task Force)
  • Lou Taylor Pucci as Adam
  • Krysten Ritter returns as Jessica Jones (spotted on the Season 2 set)
  • Matthew Lillard and Lili Taylor join for Season 2

Bottom line: Season 2 is stacking the deck, and Season 3 is officially happening at Marvel for Disney+. Actual dates still TBA, but the plan is to start shooting next year.
