For a while, it looked like Adrian Grenier was going to be the guy in Hollywood.

Drive Me Crazy put him on the teen heartthrob map in 1999, then came Entourage, The Devil Wears Prada, and a run of red carpet relevance. And then—nothing. He ghosted Hollywood like a guy who just realized LA wasn't for him. Spoiler: that's basically what happened.

So what has Grenier been up to while everyone else was wondering why Vincent Chase vanished? Let's break it down.

Career detour: social entrepreneur with a camera

  • In 2010, he co-founded SHFT, a sustainability-focused media platform with producer Peter Glatzer. Grenier called it "a powerful tool" for storytelling with a conscience.
  • He launched The Lonely Whale Foundation in 2015, promoting ocean conservation. Its 2017 "Stop Sucking" campaign targeted plastic straw use, and yes, he actually went on air asking Starbucks to stop sucking.
  • In 2023, he launched Earth Speed Media, a lifestyle platform about "living in the cadence of nature." It includes podcasts and docu-style videos about reconnecting with the Earth. Think Instagram-filtered homesteading, but sincere.

Behind the camera

Grenier moved into documentary work, producing two notable films:

  • Teenage Paparazzo (2010): about a 13-year-old photographer tailing celebs. Grenier called it a "big fat kiss to the paparazzi."
  • How to Make Money Selling Drugs (2013): co-produced with The Wire's David Simon, featuring 50 Cent and Woody Harrelson. Grenier, candid as ever, told Vice, "I'll admit to smoking pot... but my experimentation days are long gone."

Still acted—just not where anyone was looking

  • Reprised Vince in the Entourage movie (2015). He called it a "family reunion." Critics called it... less generous things.
  • Played a dad unraveling in the Netflix miniseries Clickbait (2021). Promoted it by talking about identity, avatars, and tech-fueled paranoia.
  • Appeared in a few direct-to-video thrillers and Hallmark specials, including Arsenal, Marauders, and Christmas at Graceland: Home for the Holidays.
  • Voiced a space uncle in Mission Force One, a kids' show created by his childhood friend.

Took a break after a breakup—no, really

In a 2024 episode of The Jordan B. Peterson Podcast (yep), Grenier admitted a breakup shook him out of his Hollywood autopilot.

"The love of my life... dumped me. In no uncertain terms said, 'You are the worst.'"

She even gave him a list of everything wrong with him: drinking, bad with intimacy, the works. Grenier called his agent and hit pause on acting to "grow up." Eventually, he and ex Jordan Roemmele reunited.

They now live quietly on a 46-acre eco-ranch in Texas. No, seriously.

Family man era

  • Married Roemmele in 2022 during an unplanned wedding in Morocco.
  • First son, Seiko Aurelius, was born in June 2023.
  • Second son, Evren Saint-Eros, arrived March 22, 2025, during a home birth Grenier described as "intimate with just Mom and Dad" while Seiko slept in the next room.

On becoming a dad, he told Today with Jenna & Friends:

"I don't know if my body can contain the love... I feel like I'm going to burst."

Still haunted by The Devil Wears Prada

Grenier's character Nate has aged like milk. Fans now view him as the unsupportive boyfriend from hell, and Grenier agrees.

"I might've been as immature as him at the time... but after much deliberation, I've come to realize the truth in that perspective."

So when The Devil Wears Prada sequel started production in June 2025, with Hathaway, Streep, Blunt, and Tucci all back—Grenier was not invited. Or maybe he declined. Either way: Nate's not coming back. No one seems to be mourning.
