Adam Sandler has worked with just about everyone in Hollywood—from Jack Nicholson and Kathy Bates to Winona Ryder and James Caan.

He's also got his usual crew: Kevin James, Rob Schneider, and of course, two of his most famous leading ladies, Drew Barrymore and Jennifer Aniston.

But when Entertainment Weekly asked him who his favorite co-star was, he picked Aniston—and he didn't even bring it up himself. Aniston asked him directly during a joint interview promoting Murder Mystery 2, and the moment caught him totally off guard.

"Drew is so angry right now," Sandler joked before giving an actual answer.

Then he got surprisingly sincere:

"You certainly have a way about making life fun on the set. You care about how I'm doing… if I'm enjoying my life, if I'm healthy."

Naturally, he couldn't stay serious too long.

"You do things to make my beard smell better," he added. "And after we kiss in a scene, you run away screaming into another room."

Sandler and Aniston first teamed up in 2011's Just Go with It, a romantic comedy where Sandler plays a plastic surgeon who ropes his assistant (Aniston) into pretending to be his ex-wife. Critics weren't kind, but the movie grossed $215 million worldwide.

They reunited in 2019 for Netflix's Murder Mystery, playing a married couple who get caught up in a murder investigation aboard a billionaire's yacht. It became a massive hit, reportedly earning the biggest opening weekend in Netflix history at the time. The sequel followed in 2023.

That kind of success explains the chemistry—but the affection seems real off-screen, too. And while Sandler has made three movies with both Aniston and Barrymore, this latest moment might tip the scale in Aniston's favor.

Of course, the Sandler-Barrymore duo still has The Wedding Singer to hang its hat on—easily their best-reviewed effort together. But 50 First Dates got mixed reactions, and Blended? Let's just say no one's campaigning for a rewatch.

So yes, Adam Sandler's favorite co-star is Jennifer Aniston. She keeps things fun, checks in on his health, and apparently helps with beard maintenance. Meanwhile, somewhere out there, Drew Barrymore is probably making a voodoo doll out of a fake goatee.
