Hulu unleashes the official trailer for A Thousand Blows Season 2, with Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Malachi Kirby back in the bruising Victorian fight game. Fresh off Emmy wins for Adolescence, Graham and Doherty return as the acclaimed drama readies to stream this January.

Hulu just dropped the official trailer for A Thousand Blows Season 2, and the show is clearly not done throwing haymakers. Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, and Malachi Kirby are back in the ring (literally and metaphorically), and yes, that premiere date is real: it hits Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally on January 9, 2026. Also a fun bit of timing: Graham and Doherty just picked up major Emmy hardware for Netflix's Adolescence. Streamers contain multitudes.

Where Season 2 picks up

Season 2 jumps ahead a year in the brutal 1880s East End. Hezekiah is a shell of the man we met in Season 1. Sugar Goodson is estranged from his family and drinking himself toward oblivion. Wapping looks like it is on its last legs. And then Mary Carr storms back into town with her right hand, Alice Diamond, ready to cause trouble and fix the mess in one go.

In Mary’s absence, Eliza Moody tried and failed to wear the crown and ended up exiled. Indigo Jeremy has re-seized control of the Elephants. Mary’s plan is to reassemble her all-female crew, the Forty Elephants, reclaim the throne, sober Sugar up because she still has a use for him, and strike a reluctant deal with Hezekiah to finally crush Indigo Jeremy.

'As always, Mary has a plan. And this time it is riskier than ever.'

What the trailer shows

Doherty’s Mary is in full takeover mode, rebuilding the Forty Elephants as a new chapter dawns in the East End. Graham’s Sugar steps back into the boxing ring after deciding to hand the boxing pub over to his brother. Meanwhile, Hezekiah’s got a score to settle, and the trailer makes it clear he intends to collect.

Behind the scenes and receipts

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight writes and executive produces, so expect that swaggering period-crime energy. Stephen Graham also executive produces alongside Hannah Walters, Damian Keogh, Kate Lewis, Tom Miller, Sam Myer, and David Olusoga. Producing duties are handled by Tom Miller, Barrington Robinson, and Jo Johnson.

If you are wondering whether Season 1 was worth the bruises, it landed an 88% Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes from 43 reviews. Season 2 looks like it is aiming higher and hitting harder.
