And yet, the universe still finds fresh ways to dunk on the guy: he apparently scrolled right past a giant clue back in season 3 that could have changed everything. Roll back to The Boys season 3, episode 2. Hughie is digging through the Red River Institute archives, watching files fly by on a computer screen. For a split second, a profile labeled 'Marie M' flashes past. He does not click it. Fans, on a rewatch, definitely did.

Who 'Marie M' actually is
Gen V filled in that blank: 'Marie M' is Marie Moreau, played by Jaz Sinclair. She is not just another Red River kid; she is connected to Project Odessa, the same grim experiment pipeline tied to how Homelander came into existence. Yep, the word 'Odessa' is literally on screen while Hughie is cruising past the answer key.
- What Hughie blew past: the Red River file for Marie Moreau, flagged under 'Odessa' — the program linked to Homelander's origin.
