A Quiet Place Part III Delayed 3 Weeks — Here’s The New Theatrical Release Date

A Quiet Place Part III is tiptoeing three weeks down the 2027 calendar, as John Krasinski shifts the sequel to sidestep a box-office showdown with Superman.
Paramount just nudged A Quiet Place Part III a few weeks down the summer 2027 calendar. Honestly, the logic tracks: they would rather not open opposite James Gunn and Warner Bros.' next Superman movie, Man of Tomorrow.
The new plan
A Quiet Place Part III is now set to hit theaters on July 30, 2027. It had been aiming for July 9. Deadline says the three-week shuffle is specifically to avoid going toe-to-toe with Man of Tomorrow.
Where this fits in the franchise
Quick refresher: there are three A Quiet Place movies out in the world so far. Last year brought A Quiet Place: Day One, a prequel directed by Michael Sarnoski that lives in the same universe and even ties into Part II via a character crossover. But Day One was not Part III and did not continue the Abbott family storyline from the first two films.
Who is making Part III
John Krasinski is officially writing, directing, and producing. He led the first two films from the director's chair and is back with his producing partner Allyson Seeger under their Sunday Night Productions banner, alongside Platinum Dunes. Sunday Night has a first-look deal with Paramount, so the home base is exactly where you would expect it to be.
What Krasinski has been hinting at
Back when he was rolling out Part II, Krasinski said the seeds for a third film were already rattling around in his head. He told Collider he started building out ideas while scripting the second movie, sparked by a visual thread he planted in the first film:
'I put the fires out in the distance in the first one and thought, Wouldn’t it be cool to see where those fires lead? Who’s on the other end? When I wrote the sequel, I started with the fires. This time, when my brain wandered to what it could mean later on, I wrote down notes so I could be ready for a third one.'
So... are the Abbotts back?
That is the expectation. Part III is widely assumed to bring us back to the Abbott family storyline, unlike Day One. But as of right now, no cast has been announced.
Timeline at a glance
- Last year: A Quiet Place: Day One hits theaters (prequel, directed by Michael Sarnoski).
- A few months ago: Part III was waiting on John Krasinski's schedule to clear.
- Two months ago: Krasinski officially signs on to write, direct, and produce, aiming for July 9, 2027.
- Now: Paramount moves A Quiet Place Part III to July 30, 2027 to avoid clashing with James Gunn's Superman film, Man of Tomorrow.
The inside-baseball bit
Studios try to avoid splitting the same audience on opening weekend, and a straight-up showdown with a Superman relaunch is not a fight most horror films want. Pushing three weeks gives Part III some breathing room and keeps the summer corridor intact.
Bottom line: same movie, same summer, just a smarter lane choice. July 30, 2027. See you there.
