Bridgerton breakout Regé-Jean Page is reuniting with Netflix to star in and executive produce Hancock Park, a steamy new thriller series gearing up to launch, per Deadline.

Regé-Jean Page is heading back to Netflix, this time not in a corset drama but in a full-on erotic thriller with a sharp hook and some very glossy LA menace. The project is called Hancock Park, and it is moving fast.

The quick version

  • Title: Hancock Park
  • Star and executive producer: Regé-Jean Page
  • Creator/writer and executive producer: Matthew Barry (Industry)
  • Where to watch: Netflix
  • Status: Fast-tracked in development with a script-to-series commitment
  • Heat check: Three major streamers chased it; Netflix won the bidding

What it is

The setup is juicy: Page plays a dangerously charming outsider who rents the backyard guest house of a picture-perfect Los Angeles family. He starts sliding into their lives, and the shiny, well-mannered veneer of their elite neighborhood cracks hard. The show leans into desire, lies, and obsession lurking behind gates and hedges, which the title pretty much telegraphs without subtlety.

Why Netflix pounced

Deadline says the show sparked a three-way fight among major streamers before Netflix closed it. On top of that, it is on an accelerated development track and comes with a script-to-series commitment, which is Hollywood-speak for: once the script is approved, it skips pilot purgatory and goes straight to a series order.

Who is making it

Matthew Barry, who wrote on Industry, created the series and is executive producing alongside Page. That pairing makes sense: Barry knows high-finance sharks and sharp character work; Page brings charisma with a blade hidden in it.

Why Page, why now

Netflix and Page are already a proven fit. He broke out in Bridgerton season 1, then turned up in The Gray Man, which remains one of Netflix's most-watched films. Off-platform and on, he has kept busy with Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, the spy thriller Black Bag, and the upcoming You, Me & Tuscany.

What we still do not know

No episode count, no filming dates, no release window yet. But with the fast-track status and the script-to-series setup, expect movement sooner rather than later. If they stick the landing, this could be Netflix's next glossy, grown-up thrill ride set among the very rich and very nervous.
