8 Extremely Underrated, but Actually Great Comedy Shows – and Where to Stream Them
These will surely become the next obsession of any true comedy fan.
Even after watching all of your favorite mainstream comedy series again for the sixth time in a row, you may find yourself desperately needing something fresh. Fortunately, here are 8 underrated but no less hilarious comedy shows for you to get hooked on.
Wellington Paranormal (Max)
A mockumentary comedy horror and a spin-off from the highly popular What We Do In The Shadows series, Wellington Paranormal is not to be missed by fans of Taika Waititi's original comedy hit. This series combines a traffic cop documentary with the supernatural comedy elements of WWDITS, making the perfect formula for another hilarious hit comedy.
Corporate (Paramount+)
Within the setting of a multinational corporation, the series focuses on the lives of two downtrodden employees who work there. This American sitcom may not have much of a recognizable cast to its name, but the relatable humor and outride absurdity make it an hysterical series to add to your watch list nevertheless.
Jury Duty (Freevee)
A rare reality hoax sitcom, the concept of Jury Duty was to prank an average guy into believing he was serving on a real jury. However, with everything scripted and planting everyone else as actors (including Holywood A-lister James Marsden!), the series makes for an entertaining ride as everyone is in on the joke except for poor Ronald Gladden from San Diego.
Future Man (Apple TV)
What happens when an uninspiring janitor becomes the future of humanity's last hope? Future Man seemingly answers that question by using every Sci-Fi reference it can possibly think of in the process. Starring Josh Hutcherson as the lead, who unashamedly proves he will do anything for comedy in the series.
Peep Show (fubo)
One of British sitcoms longest running series, Peep Show boasts a unique style of its own. Following two Londoners, one shy and awkward, the other a childish slacker, it explores their awkward life with its witty parody of modern culture while not taking itself too seriously.
Norsemen (Apple TV)
A Norwegian comedy about a fictional tribe of Vikings with a historical twist. Although much of its humor is rooted in a modern-day context, Norsemen is set during 790 AD Norway. Its tongue-in-cheek nature, combined with its clever writing, makes this a great series to binge.
This Fool (Hulu)
An American comedy series, This Fool centers around the character of Julio Lopez, still living with his mother and grandmother at 30 as he works at Hugs Not Thugs gang rehabilitation center in Los Angeles. Now, he must help his older cousin, Luis, who is recently released from prison and a former gang member.
The IT Crowd (Prime Video)
One of Britain's best sitcoms, The IT Crowd, revolves around the comical misadventures of socially awkward IT professionals working in the basement of a large corporation. With its sharp wit, absurd humor, and memorable characters, it has become a cult favorite for geeks and humor enthusiasts alike.
