7 Shows HBO Is Dropping in 2024: Release Schedule & Episodes Guide

With the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes almost over, many people are looking forward to new shows and seasons of their beloved projects.

Here's a quick list of what HBO has in store for us in 2024.

Curb Your Enthusiasm Season 12 (Early 2024, 10 episodes)

The twelfth installment of the classic sitcom, which premiered in 2000, has been in the works for quite some time. However, production has been disrupted by the writers' and actors' strikes, so there's no exact release date for Season 12, which is expected to premiere in early 2024, with some rumors suggesting it could drop as early as late December this year.

True Detective Season 4 (January 14th, 2024, 6 episodes)

Subtitled Night Country, Season 4 of the beloved crime drama will be set in Alaska and follow new characters as they investigate the disappearance of six men from a research station. Led by Jodie Foster, the new installment is set to premiere on January 14.

The Regime (Early 2024, 6 episodes)

Following the fall of a fictional Central European autocracy, this star-studded series, featuring Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant, will take us on a brief journey documenting a year inside the walls of the country's government palace as further events unfold. A premiere date has not yet been announced.

The Sympathizer (Early 2024, miniseries)

Starring Robert Downey Jr., this miniseries revolves around a group of Vietnamese refugees who were forced to flee their country after the Vietnam War. Interestingly, one of them is a spy who is at a loss about his old allegiances and his new life. The show's premiere date hasn't been announced yet, but it's expected to be released in the first half of 2024.

House Of The Dragon Season 2 (Summer 2024, 8 episodes)

The highly anticipated second season of the Game of Thrones prequel has been in the works throughout 2023. Given the abundance of VFX, there's a lot of work to be done before the new season comes out. It is scheduled for release in the summer of 2024.

The Righteous Gemstones Season 4 (Late 2024, episodes TBD)

Renewed for a fourth season this summer, this black comedy following a family of fraudulent preachers will begin production after the end of the actors' strike, meaning it will not premiere until late 2024.

The White Lotus Season 3 (Late 2024, episodes TBD)

Season 3 of HBO's hit satirical dramedy has been in development since November 2022. However, it was put on hold due to the WGA strike. Now that the strike is over, the third installment will resume production and will likely drop in late 2024.
