7 Most Heartbreaking OFMD Season 2 Moments So Far, Ranked
Most touching moments from three episodes so far.
Ahoy there, pirates and gentlefolk! We're ready to set sail once again on an adventure filled with satire, drama, romance, and rivalry, as the first three episodes of the second season of Our Flag Means Death have just dropped.
After Stede faked his death in the last season's finale, the Gentleman Pirate reunites with his crew and charts a course in search of Edward, who has embraced his Kraken persona. The season promises to deliver even more drama, as our hearts have already been shattered over the course of the three episodes released so far.
7. Stede's Message To Ed
The writers clearly want our tears, as the season kicked off almost immediately with gut-wrenching drama. At the beginning of the first episode, Stede sends Ed a letter in a bottle, making it clear that he can’t stop thinking about Edward.
6. Ed's Villainous Arc
While Stede remains upbeat, Edward has taken the separation hard. Heartbroken, he surrendered to the void that consumed his soul and once again became the cruel, ruthless pirate Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard. It's unbearable to watch a man who has killed hundreds of innocents suffer over unrequited love!
5. Zheng Yi Sao Inviting Stede And The Gang
The adventures of Stede and the former crew of the Revenge are not those of grim cynics but of good-natured misfits. It is heartening to know that other pirates also appreciate these traits, as Zheng Yi Sao welcomes them aboard her Red Flag simply because they are 'tender as hell.'
4. Revenge Crew Saving Izzy
Izzy Hands is not the most likable pirate, as he tries to compensate for Ed's lack of love and attention with toxicity. However, even the crew is horrified by the senselessness of Edward's cruel actions, and when he tries to finish off Izzy, it is sweet to see the pirates unite to save him.
3. Turbulence Between Jim And Oluwande
There was no shortage of drama surrounding the romance between Jim and Oluwande. However, being on opposite sides of the barricades, both found themselves caught in love triangles — Jim was infatuated with Archie, while Zheng Yi Sao found herself attracted to Oluwande.
2. Ed's Self-Reflection
Ed's stay in 'Purgatory' was no less heartbreaking. He realized that his greatest fear was to remain alone and unloved and that all of his actions were driven by personal self-loathing.
1. Reunion Of Stede And Ed
The third episode ended on a cliffhanger as Ed finally regained consciousness. Before that, however, we were treated to a touching moment when Stede finally found the love of his life.
The next two episodes will be released on Max on October 12.
