7 Major Stars Who Exited Chicago Fire, Med & P.D. in 2022-2023 Season

One Chicago is one of the most popular franchises not only on NBC, but on television in general. However, due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production on the series has been put on hold.
Fortunately, the AMPTP has met the writers' demands, work on the scripts has surely resumed, and the start of filming is only a matter of time. But it's quite possible that we won't see many of our favorite characters in the coming seasons, as they left the projects in the 2022-2023 season. Let's take a look at who has left the cast.
7. Asjha Cooper (Vanessa Taylor, Chicago Med)
The character left Gaffney after working there for three seasons to go to the Philippines to do charity work.
6. Sarah Rafferty (Pamela Blake, Chicago Med)
In season 7, Sarah Rafferty developed a tremor that required surgery. Unfortunately, the surgery failed due to sudden cardiac arrest, leaving Pamela without the use of her hand. The reason for the actress' departure is unknown, but it is possible that Rafferty may yet reprise the role.
5. Guy Lockard (Dylan Scott, Chicago Med)
Another addition to Season 7 was Dr. Dylan Scott, a former Chicago police officer who changed careers. However, after the murder of his lover, undercover cop, he decided to leave the city for good in the Season 8 premiere.
4. Brian Tee (Ethan Choi, Chicago Med)
Ethan's reason for leaving the medical center was rather noble: after marrying April in Season 8, he opened a mobile clinic with her to help the communities in underprivileged areas. The actor left the show to focus on his family and new projects.
3. Taylor Kinney (Kelly Severide, Chicago Fire)
In January 2023, it was announced that Kinney would be leaving the project indefinitely to focus on personal matters. His character left Firehouse to attend 'the best arson investigation training program in the world,' but it is unknown if he will appear in Season 12.
2. Jesse Lee Soffer (Jay Halstead, Chicago P.D.)
For ten years, the actor was a fixture on the show, playing the charismatic heartthrob Jay Halstead. Fortunately, Jay was not killed off by the writers, but left the Secret Service and returned to the Army.
1. Nick Gehlfuss (Will Halstead, Chicago Med)
But the biggest surprise was that OG character Will Halstead left Gaffney and moved to Seattle due to management turmoil. The actor shared that he made the decision to leave the project in order to pursue new opportunities.
