7 Celebrities Who Refuse to Sign Autographs for Pretty Weird Reasons
3 and 6 are really odd!
It's totally understandable that celebs don't want to be bothered when they're out living their own lives. William Shatner and Paul McCartney are among those who have said they'll only sign autographs at an event or when they're working.
Others have given some slightly odd reasons for not wanting to sign anything for fans:
1. John C. Reilly
The Chicago actor is pretty forthright in explaining his reason for not signing autographs – even if his views are likely to upset fans. He simply says those asking for his signature are 'lacking something in their own personal lives, so they want the adoration of autographs and all that stuff.' Harsh!
2. Bill Murray
Bill Murray is much the same – just without having a dig at his fans. He just thinks signing autographs is boring. But he will pose for a photo – which you'd think is just as boring.
3. Steve Martin
I once asked Steve Martin for his autograph and he gave me these cards instead

Ok, Steve Martin is a weird one. Rather than signing an autograph, the actor and comedian gives out business cards that say, 'This certifies that you have had a personal encounter with me and you found me warm, polite, intelligent, and funny'.
4. Bryan Cranston
It all got a bit much for Breaking Bad star Brian Cranston who announced via Twitter in 2018, that he is retiring from… autograph signing.
5. Ringo Starr
Beatles drummer Ringo Starr stopped signing autographs after realising how many people were profiting from the. So, while no longer signs anything for random fans, he does still do so for charity auctions and the like.
6. Jonah Hill
Like Steve Martin, Jonah Hill gives out business cards. Once again, they're slightly tongue in cheek. But it's still a bit weird. The card reads: 'I just met Jonah Hill … and it was a total letdown.'
7. Billie Eilish
It may have taken Bryan Cranston 18 years to tire of signing his name. But singer Billie Eilish was done with it by the age of 17.
Like Ringo Starr, she wasn't happy that so much of what she signed got sold. Neither was she a fan of people swearing at her any time she said no. So, she just went for a blanket 'no' in the hope people would stop asking.
