Despite its conclusion, the show's brimming with spinoff possibilities.

It's hard to believe that almost a week has passed since the last episode of Ted Lasso's third season came out. So far, all indications suggest that Season 3 was the last one – the show's creator, Jason Sudeikis, who also plays the titular character, has been saying for years that TL was conceived as a three-part story.

Furthermore, Apple TV+, which produces Ted Lasso, has already posted a farewell video on their YouTube channel. However, unlike the network, viewers aren't ready to bid farewell to the show that has been brightening up the darkest days since its release in 2020. As a result, there's a great demand for TL to carry in some shape or form. Fortunately, the show has created a wealth of spinoff opportunities.

Here are five potential spinoffs of the beloved show.

  1. Zava in LA

Perhaps the most controversial character on Ted Lasso, Zava sailed through Season 3 without leaving a tangible trace of himself, which means more in-depth character development is in order. Conflicted and complex, Zava would be a perfect protagonist for a spinoff set in LA, where he's originally from.

  1. Rebecca's Child

Throughout Ted Lasso, Rebecca tried to become a mother. Season 3's finale saw her meet the Dutch mystery man in Amsterdam. Conveniently, he has a daughter whom Rebecca instantly fell for. There was a sense that they would try to build a family, which would be a heartwarming story of Rebecca's journey.

  1. Beard in the UK

On the flight home, Coach Beard realised he wanted to be with Jane, which meant staying in the UK. Long story short, he found a way to stay, and that's where his own spinoff should begin. Beard's character has lots of potential and would make great spinoff material.

  1. Roy Kent's Richmond

As Ted flew back to the US, Roy took over Richmond, where he already implemented changes, including hiring Dr. Sharon as an in-house counsellor. Given that he has a lot of work to do to mend himself, Kent's management is a story worth telling.

  1. AFC Richmond Women’s Team

Seeing that Keeley's proposal to launch a women's football team at Richmond is taken seriously, there's an entirely different story to tell. There are countless ways to approach this spinoff – from a largely new cast to the plot itself. Moreover, it could also keep referring to all the other stories.

But then again, even if we won't be seeing any of the Ted Lasso characters ever again, credit has to be given where it's due: the Ted Lasso story was brought to an end with grace while leaving some of the story arcs hanging to tease our imagination.
