Would we watch another season of Queen Charlotte? Probably. But is there really a need for it?

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story became the favorite Bridgerverse installment for many fans. The writing was flawless, the setting and costumes exquisite, the casting and acting impeccable. That's why many viewers find it hard to say goodbye to the young characters and their addictive stories.

But no matter how much they want to see the beloved cast back on screen, many Bridgerverse fans think Season 2 of Queen Charlotte would be a huge mistake. Here's why.

The story is complete

Fans think Shonda Rhimes did a great job telling the story of Queen Charlotte and King George in the miniseries. We saw how it began, we know how it ends. The final episode of the prequel wrapped up the story perfectly. Showing the royal couple having lots of babies and George's mental state continuing to deteriorate isn't worth another season.

Continuation would cheapen the show

One of the worst things that can happen to a show is for the creators to continue a story that doesn't need to be continued. Delving further into Charlotte's arc could cheapen the entire spinoff and ruin the beautifully crafted first season, fans say.

It's impossible to maintain two timelines

One of the greatest attractions of Queen Charlotte is its dual timeline structure. However, in the present day, Charlotte has come dangerously close to the death of her real-life counterpart. In fact, the real Charlotte never met her granddaughter Queen Victoria and died a year before she was born.

If the creators want to keep the show relatively historically accurate, Charlotte could die soon, leaving no place for her story to go in the present. This would place Season 2 entirely in the past, which feels flawed in comparison to Season 1.

It's time to turn to other characters

The title of the series implies that the main character is Queen Charlotte. Since her arc feels perfectly wrapped up, fans would rather see the stories of other characters, like Lady Danbury and Violet Ledger, which require separate spinoffs, not new seasons. And the Queen can relax and turn her attention to meddling in the social affairs of the ton in the parent series.

New season of spinoff could delay Bridgerton

The endless source of frustration for the huge Bridgerton fandom is the constant delay of the main show's seasons. The stories of the Bridgerton siblings come many months apart, and the main reason for this year's extended hiatus seems to be Queen Charlotte. The prequel needs time to shine, so season 3 of Bridgerton doesn't even have a premiere date yet. The fans are not at all happy about such a situation.
