It's one of the most streamed shows, so don't dismiss it.

Since landing on Netflix in June, Suits has proven to be one of the most watched shows on the streaming service. Maybe it's the Meghan Markle factor (it's not every day you see a real-life royal in a drama). Or maybe it's nostalgia.

But there could be another reason. One that somehow got lost in the years between Suits ending and Netflix bringing it back. It's actually quite good.

Here are 5 reasons why you should watch Suits while you can:

1. It doesn't take itself too seriously

These days, hard-hitting shows are the norm. It's almost as if you can only have something super-serious or just plain silly. But that wasn't always the case.

Whatever Happened to the Cast of Suits 12 Years Later?

Suits is a show where the premise is utter nonsense. A drug runner sneaks into a law firm to evade the cops, accidentally spills weed all over the place and then gets offered a job. You'd think this could only be the start of an 80s comedy or a Monty Python sketch. But it's a US drama.

2. It's something everyone can enjoy together

The world is full of couples who live together, love each other dearly - and can never agree on what to watch on TV. That's the curse of streaming services. With so many choices, how do you find something that suits everyone?

But it's nice to sit down and enjoy a show together every now and then. And this offbeat, high-stakes comedy-drama, which you don't really have to buy into, is just that.

3. It's a procedural at heart

When it comes to comfort TV, we all love a procedural. Just look at how many of them continue to drag viewers in, if you need proof. And Suits follows that style. In each episode, a lawyer takes on a case that turns out not to be quite as straightforward as it first appears.

We know from the moment they take it that there are going to be problems. And part of the fun is guessing what they're going to be.

4. Well-rounded characters

Despite not taking itself too seriously, the show has a lot of strong characters. There are no hangers-on. Everyone has a part to play and there is usually a good dynamic on screen.

You might also recognise a few familiar faces that aren't the Duchess of Sussex. Amanda Schul (Pretty Little Liars), Dule Hill (The West Wing) and Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy) are just a few examples.

5. It's fun

After all, isn't that what TV and film are all about? After a hard day's work, you want a little light relief. Something that's easy to watch and doesn't make you work too hard to keep up. That doesn't mean you want a mind-numbing show with no plot (not to mention no names), just that a weekday evening is more Murder She Wrote than Silence of the Lambs.
