5 Predictions for Season 5 Based on Stranger Things' New Teaser
Stranger Things is ready to give us something after months of silence.
Exactly one year ago, we learned that Eleven and company had failed to stop Vecna: just as we witnessed a touching reunion of the characters in Hawkins, an even greater threat loomed over the town — the forces of the Upside Down had infiltrated under Vecna's control.
The question of whether there would be a sequel wasn't even an issue, as the script for the final season was complete. However, filming was postponed indefinitely due to the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. But now, the official Twitter account has posted an intriguing yet cryptic teaser — let's break it down and try to figure out what it might be telling us.
5. Scoops Ahoy
First of all, the teaser took us back to the Starcourt Mall, specifically to the ice cream parlor where Robin and Steve worked in Season 3. The mall was completely destroyed in the season finale, so it's kind of weird to see it again. What does that mean? Will the mall be rebuilt and destroyed again? Will Billy be back? Maybe we're looking for too much meaning where there isn't any.
4. Robin's tally board
Fans immediately recognized the whiteboard on which Robin marked each successful or unsuccessful moment of Steve's attempts to rizz (although there were no successful ones). As in the show, four lines were crossed out and one was not. Is this a tease for the fifth season?
3. The stakes have never been higher
The teaser was quite ominous, and the dramatic effect was heightened by several destructions with ominous music in the background.
While these are all elements of Season 3, perhaps it's a hint that more devastation is in store for the gang and Hawkins in the upcoming season.
2. Announcement is on the way!
Many fans have assumed that, with the show's promotion having resumed so actively, we can expect a major announcement soon. However, don't count on the start of filming and even less on the release date, as this aspect is still in doubt due to the ongoing strikes.
1. New job for Vecna?
Fans were surprised by the return of Scoops Ahoy, since the parlor was destroyed. 'Something sweet is coming,' reads the cryptic message on the show's promotional Twitter account. Maybe it's a reference to a collaboration between ST and Baskin-Robbins, or an ice cream to be released under the franchise's brand?
