5 Never-Seen Movie Kiss Scenes We Wish Hadn't Been Cut
Love and passion are often found at the heart of a movie’s plot. So, it’s no surprise that kissing is a regular feature of films.
But there are some kisses that ended up on the cutting room floor rather than the big screen. Here are 5 of them:

Scooby Doo: Where’s That Kiss?
Scooby Doo: The Movie was supposed to be a bit more edgy than the cartoon series, and a 'steamy kiss' between Daphne (Sarah Michelle Gellar) and Velma (Linda Cardellini) was recorded.
Whether someone got worried about negative press or the wrath of the conservative elite or, as Gellar says, it wasn’t steamy enough, is not clear. There’s only one way to find out.

Public Love? Not Quite
When recording the 2009 movie Public Enemies, Carey Mulligan (who played prostitute Carol Slayman) was required to kiss her lover in the movie, John Dillinger. But there was a problem.
Mulligan was still quite new on the scene at the time. And the actor she had to kiss was Hollywood legend Johnny Depp. 'I got really nervous' she told Graham Norton and 'looked so uncomfortable' that the kiss never made the final edit.
It made no real difference to the movie – and at least she got to kiss Johnny Depp 16 times.

This is 2023!
A Tom Brady-produced movie about elderly female fans of the NFL unsurprisingly did little to captivate filmgoers and grossed just $40 million from a $28 million budget.
After its release, Olympic skier and YouTuber Gus Kenworthy opened up on why he thinks a kiss between his character and his on-screen boyfriend (played by Brian Jordan Alvarez) was cut.
He told Variety, 'They said they had to cut it for time, but I think they cut it for Middle America,' indicating that he believes a film aimed at NFL fans wasn’t yet ready to include a same-sex kiss – in 2023!

An Extinct Romance
Ok, this one at least makes sense. In 1993s Jurassic Park, Laura Dern (Dr Ellie Sattler) and Sam Neill (Dr Alan Grant) were involved in a will-they-won't-they relationship while assessing the new theme park.
During production, the two engaged in a kiss that was due to appear early in the film and make a romance very obvious between them. Concerned that this would make the pair appear less professional, the editors deleted the scene. But the footage is out there somewhere.

Not Even a Brief Peck
When Julia Roberts and Denzel Washington were cast in The Pelican Brief, it seemed inconceivable they wouldn’t share a kiss.
They kissed. It just never appeared in the movie. Washington explains why: 'Black women are not often seen as objects of desire on film,' Washington said. 'They have always been my core audience.'
Because of this, he was worried that an interracial kiss would upset his fanbase and requested it be removed.
