5 Hilarious Scenes That Made Frasier So Iconic, Ranked
These five will give you the perfect taste of the iconic sitcom.
Due to the writers' and actors' strikes, this fall isn't replete with TV show premieres. However, that doesn't mean that there's nothing to watch. For instance, the highly anticipated reboot of Frasier dropped on Paramount+ on October 12th.
A spin-off of Cheers, Frasier was a cult 1990s-early 2000s sitcom that predated Friends. Following the titular psychiatrist, the show explored his career as a radio host in Seattle, as well as delving further into his unsuccessful personal life. Over the eleven seasons Frasier was on the air, it featured plenty of laugh-worthy situations.
Here are just five most hilarious moments that make Frasier an iconic sitcom.
5. Frasier's Endorsement of John Glenn
During its extensive run, the sitcom featured many guest stars. John Glenn was but one of them. He made a cameo appearance in season 8, episode 16, as a politician (himself) that Frasier was about to endorse. The beloved character wrote a perfect script and rehearsed it smoothly, but after hearing John Glenn speak of aliens on his show, everything went awry…
4. Niles Doing Housework
This almost silent scene will leave anyone speechless as it captures the very essence of Niles Crane. Pretentious yet awkward, Frasier's younger brother wreaks havoc in his apartment while, comically, trying to clean up.
3. Frasier and Alastair Burke Dancing
Another prominent guest star on Frasier, Patrick Stewart played Seattle Opera's eccentric conductor who had eyes for Dr. Crane. Oblivious to the fact – even though everybody was telling him about it, Frasier enjoyed Alastair Burke's affections that also included a very sweet-to-look-at dance. The main character's reluctance to accept the truth is even more comical when you realize that he's a psychiatrist.
2. Niles on Ham Radio
The bulk of hilarity surrounding Niles stemmed from him constantly getting in all sorts of trouble. Thus, when Frasier asked him for help with his radio show, the younger Crane didn't realize that he would have to impersonate several characters. His awkward and stressful performance is a comedic gem.
1. Frasier at the Ski Lodge
One of the reasons Frasier is so funny is because he's been unlucky in love and always bitter about it. This scene is a perfect example of that, as the other characters fancy everyone but Dr. Crane during their weekend at a ski resort.
