QC has concluded, but there are plenty of other characters whose pasts are worth exploring.

The Bridgerton universe has hinted at a lot of intriguing backstories for its older characters. Queen Charlotte explored one of those stories to critical and audience acclaim – could another character get the spotlight next?

Here are 5 Bridgerton characters we'd love to see featured in a prequel of their own.

Edmund Bridgerton

Violet once told her son, 'I am fully subscribed to the belief that reformed rakes make the very best of husbands.' Does that mean that Edmund was sleeping his way around London when he and Violet started that epic romance we keep hearing so much about? Stop telling us that it was a love story for the ages and show us! Take your time about it though Netflix: let's say 6 - 8 episodes?

Madame Delacroix

Bridgerton is already all about the fashion, so how about spending some time being really about the fashion? We know that Madame Delacroix passes herself off as French in order to be fancy enough to serve the ladies of high society, but her true voice reveals her to be from humble (and very British) origins. We'd love to see the rags-to-riches story of how this woman scammed her way to her position. We're thinking Vanity Fair meets Cruella.

Lady Danbury

Her story was very satisfying in Queen Charlotte, and it's actually pretty easy to connect the dots of how this powerhouse grew into her role as the unofficial matriarch of London society. It's not that we need a prequel to fill in any blanks… it's just that the character is so fantastic we want as much of her as possible. Taking lovers? Handling intense political scheming? Maybe even… spying for the crown?! We'll take any Lady D. we can get.

Mary Sharma

Bridgerton has given us a lot of compelling hints about Mary's background: we know that she was considered a promising young debutante, but that she brought disgrace on her family by marrying a poor single dad and setting sail to India. We know that she has a fraught relationship with her parents, was once close with the Queen, and that she took on young Kate Sharma as a stepdaughter when she married. There's definitely enough love and intrigue here to support a prequel, and the timeline would also allow us to check in with a slightly older Charlotte and George!

The Dowager Princess Augusta

At the beginning of Queen Charlotte, the King's mother is quite unsympathetic. But as the series goes on, it becomes increasingly clear that the Dowager Princess (like Charlotte herself) is a smart, savvy survivor. We heard hints of an abusive father-in-law and some pretty intense circumstances after the death of her husband. We also see the soft side of her, as she is genuinely moved by her son's happiness. More Augusta, please!
