Apple TV+ seems to have the highest percentage of original shows and movies of any streaming service. And it's no wonder, with new series and movies premiering on the platform every month. This July is no exception.
Here are five shows debuting on Apple TV+ in this month.
Sunny (July 10)
Starring Rashida Jones, this dark comedy series tells the story of Suzie Sakamoto, an American expatriate living in Kyoto, whose family has disappeared in a plane crash. As a consolation gift, the former boss of Suzie's husband, Masa, gives her the titular robot. To Suzie's surprise, Masa wasn't a refrigerator designer – he created robots, and Sunny is his creation. Now Suzie must deal with her husband's secrets and rethink their entire relationship. Worst of all, she becomes the object of interest for some dangerous people who used to know Masa.
Me (July 12)
This superhero adventure series follows Ben Vasani, a twelve-year-old boy whose life was turned upside down when he was placed with a new family and sent to a new school. To make matters worse, Ben discovered that he has a superpower: he can transform into anyone, but he does it involuntarily. Now Ben must learn how to control his ability, what it means to have one in the first place, and most importantly, how to stay himself when he can be anyone he likes.
Lady in the Lake (July 19)
Adapted from Laura Lippman's book of the same name, this thriller-drama focuses on the disappearance and murder of two girls in Baltimore in 1966. When investigative journalist Maddie Schwartz, played by Natalie Portman, leaves her husband to work on the cases, she becomes increasingly obsessed with the murders, and her investigation begins to clash with the work of a local black rights activist.
Time Bandits (July 24)
Based on Terry Gilliam's film of the same name, this fantasy adventure series revolves around a ragtag group of time-traveling thieves who recruit eleven-year-old Kevin, who has a real passion for history, to join them on their adventures. As they travel through time and space to loot various locations, Kevin's knowledge of history is put to the test. The series stars Lisa Kudrow and Taika Waititi.
Women in Blue (July 31)
Set in 1971, this period Mexican crime drama centers on four women who decide to join the country's first female police force after a new series of murders by the Tlalpan Undresser. Defying the conservative views of the public, the four characters put themselves in danger to stop the killer, even though their regiment turns out to be a PR stunt to distract the media, and the police don't take them seriously or support their investigation.
