5 AHS Scenes So Disturbing, They Will Leave You Scarred For Life
American Horror Story loves to leave fans shocked, but sometimes they take it too far.
American Horror Story has delivered some unbelievable storylines, terrifying plot twists, and horrors of every kind, but there have been times when the acclaimed series has crossed the line. These scenes gave us that cold, sick feeling that keeps you up at night.
The Guinea Pig (Cult - Season 7)
There’s just something especially upsetting and disturbing about animal cruelty, and most shows will avoid it completely, or at least spare viewers graphic detail. AHS, however, went in the opposite direction and created a scene that no animal lover would ever be able to forgive them for.
In Cult, Oz is gifted a guinea pig, whom he names Mr. Guinea. Unfortunately, the little creature's life comes to a horrible end, after he is put into a microwave by an unknown person.
5 Most Unsettling Moments in American Horror Story Season 12 TeaserGruesomely, Mr. Guinea explodes, splattering blood and bits all over the inside of the microwave. Fans were outraged over what felt like an unnecessary scene added in for a sickening shock factor.
Tate’s School Shooting (Murder House - Season 1)
For the most part, AHS storylines are a far stretch from reality, featuring the supernatural, cults, demons, and more, but this scene was all too real.
Murder House includes a flashback that depicts Tate entering his high school and going on a shooting rampage. Gunshots echo through the halls, and he enters the library, hunting and killing students one by one as they cry and beg for their lives.
The whole scene was terrifying, and triggering, made worse by the fact that Tate’s character was inspired by one of the worst school shootings in history, the Columbine High School massacre. Given the tragic rise of school shootings in America, this scene was unforgivable, leaving many viewers upset and disturbed by the almost glorified portrayal.
Audrey and Monet are forced to eat Lee (Roanoke - Season 6)
Roanoke in itself was disturbing and then came the scene that combined torture and cannibalism. It was vile, stomach-churning, and unnecessarily graphic.
Lee, Audrey, and Monet are kidnapped by the Polk family and held hostage, and things only get worse from there. Lee is tied up and the Polks proceed to carefully season and cut ‘filets’ of meat from her leg, which they then force Monet and Audrey to eat.
The whole idea of cannibalism is disturbing, and the scene itself makes our skin crawl. From the Polks slowly slicing up Lee’s leg as she squirms, to zapping Monet and Audrey with tasers, forcing them to eat the bloody strips of human flesh, taking great pleasure in telling them; “She’s a little chewy but she aint that bad.”
Kyle’s Mother (Coven - Season 3)
Incest is included on the long list of disturbing and taboo topics covered by American Horror Story, with this season 3 scene being one of the most sickening moments to date.
Watching Kyle’s mother kiss him all over, and then begging grinding up against him was upsetting, and something we can never unsee. Discovering that his mother had been sexually grooming and abusing him was a shock enough, but seeing it happen was another kind of uneasy, cold feeling.
Queenie and Bastien the Minotaur (Coven - Season 3)
In this scene, bestiality takes center stage, creating an intimate and unbelievably uncomfortable moment between Queenie and Bastien the Minotaur.
Bastien is sent to capture and kill Delphine LaLaurie, and Queenie intervenes. She lures the beast outside, and the pair seem to share a moment as she tries to relate to him, explaining that she understands his rage…. and then she attempts to seduce him.
Queenie starts masturbating, and the Minotaur moves behind her, with his horns almost caressing her. It’s weird, utterly disturbing and so unnatural seeing a human and a creature engage in intimacy. Then came the fan debates afterwards if the beast had sexually assaulted Queenie after the scene abruptly ended.
There was also one scene from Hotel, season 5, that was so disturbing we couldn’t even include it in this list. (If you know, you know).
