5 A-List Singers Who Might Be Underneath the Masked Singer Medusa Costume

With only two episodes left until The Masked Singer Season 9 finale airs on May 17, viewers are wondering which of the three remaining contestants will win this year. More importantly, fans are eager to find out who is hiding behind the masks of California Roll, Macaw, and Medusa.

So far, both viewers and panelists have found Medusa to be the most enigmatic character on the show.

'You are a mystery of the highest order,' Robin Thicke said to the performer at the quarterfinals.

The clues to the identity behind the snake-haired mask include success coming in the grayest of places, dancers in the dark, Buckingham Palace, Tokyo, chess pieces, Chris Martin, the Super Bowl, a bridge, and motherhood. The panelists offered many guesses as to who these clues might refer to, but neither they nor the fans ever came to an agreement.

Here are five singers who, according to The Masked Singer panelists and fans, could be under the Medusa mask.

Annie Lennox

Because she has never failed to impress the audience and the judges with her amazing voice and brilliant performances, everyone is sure that Medusa is an A-list singer. Many fans think that, given her British heritage and legendary status in pop culture, Medusa could be Annie Lennox, an iconic singer-songwriter and political and social activist.

Björk

In Round 1, Ken Jeong guessed that Medusa could be Björk. How could he not? Even though the panelist later changed his mind, many fans think Ken was onto something with his suggestion.

Björk starred in Dancer in the Dark, which was one of the main clues, and Medusa mentioned nonconformity and a swan dress, both of which sound very Björk.

Pink

Although the panelists never mentioned her in their guesses, many viewers think that Medusa could be Pink. She sings a lot about not fitting in, she performed the national anthem at the Super Bowl, she did a virtual concert with Chris Martin during the pandemic. Fans also hear a lot of Pink's rasp in Medusa's voice.

Gwyneth Paltrow

The Chris Martin reference made viewers think of his ex-wife Gwyneth Paltrow. The Hollywood star is indeed a great singer, and some fans said they remembered her voice from Glee the minute they heard Medusa sing for the first time.

Bishop Briggs

The most popular fan guess is that Medusa is Bishop Briggs. Nicole Scherzinger mentioned the British singer-songwriter among her quarterfinal guesses, and many think she was right. Everything from the way Medusa moves and sings to clues like her British heritage and connection to the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise in fact point to Briggs.
