4 TV Shows to Watch on Apple TV+ in October 2023

Despite the odds, October promises some compelling content.

As the Hollywood strikes persist, viewers are starting to feel the absence of fresh TV content. Many popular shows have failed to produce new seasons for the fall schedule, and these delays will likely extend into the coming year. This situation certainly casts an additional spotlight on the shows that did manage to produce new episodes and the platforms that offer them.

Although less popular than Netflix or Prime Video, Apple TV+ has demonstrated with titles like Ted Lasso, Severance, and Foundation that its original shows are not to be overlooked. While the platform only releases a handful of projects each month, they compensate for this with superior quality that has attracted many fans to the platform.

Here are four Apple TV+ shows to quench your content thirst this October.

Invasion: Season 2

The show offers a unique and refreshing perspective on an alien invasion. Rather than an action-filled fight for survival, it's a profound, slow-paced narrative about five distinct characters, each coping with the disaster in their own unique way. The show may be slow-paced, but it draws you in the longer you watch it.

Season 2 premiered on August 24 and will continue to air until the end of October.

The Morning Show: Season 3

Among the Apple TV+ projects, The Morning Show holds a pride of place. It's an excellent show with a stellar cast. Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston excel as the hosts of a popular morning news program (TMS), and viewers look forward to each new season.

Season 3, which premiered on September 13, will include ten episodes and end in November. The new season marks an exciting development for TMS as a tech billionaire, portrayed by Jon Hamm of Mad Men fame, expresses interest in acquiring the network.

Still Up

This new British comedy follows two very different main characters: a free-spirited illustrator (Antonia Thomas) and a socially anxious journalist (Craig Roberts). However, they share a common trait. Both are insomniacs and while the city sleeps, they engage in long, profound conversations without ever meeting in person.

The show premiered on September 22 and is slated to conclude on October 27. Early viewers are praising the show's storytelling and humor.

Lessons in Chemistry

This dramatic miniseries is based on Bonnie Garmus' namesake novel, set in the 1950s. It narrates the story of a chemist (Brie Larson) who, after being fired from a lab, uses her new job as a TV cooking show host to educate homemakers about science.

The strong protagonist and intriguing subject matter have many viewers psyched to see what's going to happen next in Lessons in Chemistry's new season, which premieres on October 13.
