These storylines definitely deserve their own show.

HBO is rebooting Harry Potter, this time as a seven-season series, one for each book. That's great, of course, but we think this world can and should be explored from other angles, as was made in the Fantastic Beasts franchise or the recent Hogwarts Legacy.

1. The Marauders' Story

The school years of James Potter and his friends seem like the perfect material for a coming-of-age series: there is the faculty feud as a plot driver, Snape's unrequited love for Lily, and an ideal combination of canonical information and room for the writers' imagination.

This project is the cherished dream of the entire fandom, which has lived in the hearts of Harry Potter fans for decades.

2. The Youth and Rise of Voldemort

Villain origin stories are still in vogue, and Voldemort deserves to have his biography examined in detail in his own show. A boy who truly believes in his own exceptionalism eventually becomes a powerful dictator.

He decides to remake the entire magical community to his liking, gathers influential wizards around him, and keeps the entire country in such fear for several years that people even try not to speak his name. It seems that this is still a relevant enough plot for a drama in which evil is finally defeated, at least for a while.

3. Series About the Black Sisters

The ancient and pure Black line is a great source of family drama, and the story of the three sisters, Bellatrix, Narcissa, and Andromeda, is particularly compelling.

Each of them made her own choices during a difficult time for the wizarding world: Andromeda was erased from the family tree for marrying a Muggle-born wizard, Narcissa married the heir to a respected family, and Bellatrix became Voldemort's minion and a fanatical Death Eater.

The story of how young witches grow apart and make diametrically opposed choices could make for a Little Women-style series, with a magical twist and plenty of drama.

4. Comedy About the Everyday Life of the Employees of the Ministry of Magic

Judging by the plot of the books, the Ministry of Magic is struggling to get its act together. Perhaps this is because it is bogged down in bureaucracy, with a multitude of departments responsible for everything from controlling brooms to erasing the memories of Muggles.

It would be really interesting to see how and by whom the magical world is governed.
