4 Bridgerton Characters Not Returning In Season 3

With each new season focusing on the love story of the next Bridgerton sibling, the very concept of the hit Netflix series means that the composition of the characters will change from one chapter to the next. Major players from the first two seasons step aside to make way for new characters, including the love interests of everyone's favorite siblings.
Here are four Bridgerton characters who will not be strolling through the beautiful gardens of Regency-era London when Season 3 arrives on Netflix later this year.
Simon Basset
The main heartthrob of the first season, played by Regé-Jean Page, will hardly ever appear in the romantic series again. Page felt that his character's arc was a done deal after Season 1 and refused to sign on for any more episodes, giving way to his other projects. To be fair, after falling in love with Daphne Bridgerton and having children with her, there is not much character development for the Duke of Hastings.
Daphne Bridgerton
Although the first Bridgerton sibling to marry appeared in Season 2 as Anthony's wise sister, Phoebe Dynevor's part was quite small, so fans were not surprised when she said she would not be reprising her role for Season 3. Apparently, the Duchess of Hastings has a household to run, and the actress who plays her has some new projects on her radar. But don't be too discouraged, as Dynevor hasn't closed the door on Bridgerton altogether.
Edwina Sharma
Charithra Chandran also confirmed that her character will not return in the next Bridgerton season. While Edwina played a major role in the love story of Anthony Bridgerton and her sister Kate Sharma, the character has now lost its importance to the show. Kate's marriage to Anthony has taken the financial pressure off the Sharma family, and Queen Charlotte has expressed interest in matching Edwina with her nephew, a Prince. Hopefully Edwina will be able to find happiness off-screen after the heartbreak of Season 2.
Marina Crane (née Thompson)
Marina was one of the major characters in Season 1 and reappeared in Season 2 as part of Colin Bridgerton's arc. Even though Colin will be the main character in the upcoming season, Marina will not be returning to the screen, as actress Ruby Barker confirmed on her Instagram. Sadly, this most likely means that Marina will pass away at some point, like her counterpart in Julia Quinn's books. This will make her husband Sir Philip Crane a widower and help him get closer to Eloise Bridgerton.
