Yes, Quantumania could have been rescued.

There are multiple explanations for what went wrong in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania. The much anticipated third installment in the Ant-Man franchise had much potential including the spectacular arrival of Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror.

Nevertheless, Quantumania was hampered by a convoluted plot and failed expectations. You could blame it on development starting during the hell that was COVID, or audiences could simply erase this MCU movie from their memories.

Regardless, many on Reddit believe they have the solution to what could have saved Ant-Man: Quantumania and The Wasp.

Ant-Man: Quantumania was an enormous flop despite the movie studio thinking otherwise

Joanna Robinson, co-author of MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios, recently confirmed that Marvel believed Quantumania would be a massive success despite opening to a mixed reception from fans along with plenty of hate from critics.

Be that as it may, Quantumania was hammered by technical issues (including a scrambled reshoot a month before its premiere) and suffered numerous other problems.

Despite it, many Redditors suggest that saving the Hollywood disaster does not have to be all that complicated. Here are three simple ways to save Ant-Man: Quantumania by killing off main characters to save the superhero epic:

#1 Marvel should have stuck with original ending

Marvel faced a crisis when the ending credits of the theatrical release were leaked early to audiences. The issue was the credits basically explained how the movie ended, causing MCU to panic and rush an alternative ending.

The problem is the eventual ending of Quantumania was lackluster considering it seemed more probable that Scott and Hope both remained trapped in the Quantum Realm. Unfortunately, the scrambled reshoot blew this opportunity.

#2 Ant-Man and The Wasp are not the only characters that should have been eliminated

Marvel missed its chance to ice Hank and Janet, the parents of Hope van Dyne (The Wasp). Fans agree that watching Hank and Janet fight to save their daughter would have been epic.

Tragically, MCU avoided this alternate ending and stuck with something much more cliche and bland. People wanted to see more of the characters in Quantumania clash even if it meant their eventual demise.

#3 Kang pummels Scott Lang and completely overhauls the Ant-Man franchise

Look, no one prefers seeing the hero die in anything. However, Quantumania was actually the prime opportunity to have Kang finish off Lang in the final battle sequence. After all, Kang was pummeling Lang enough to make it seem like the actual ending was forced to appease fans.

Sure, everyone likes a happy ending but most fans agree that Lang was destined for the Quatnum Realm. It’s unfortunate that the MCU felt otherwise, as having Kang kill Lang would have transformed him into the new star of the franchise.
