Aryan Khan’s writing-directing debut crashes onto Netflix with The Ba***ds of Bollywood, a razor-sharp satire of fame’s glitz and grind — and it’s stuffed with 21 starry cameos. Here’s every appearance to watch for.

Netflix just dropped Aryan Khan's first project as a writer-director, and yes, it is exactly the kind of glossy, wry industry send-up you think it is. 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' zips through seven episodes of backstage chaos, big dreams, and bigger egos, and it is absolutely stacked with cameos. If you were playing spot-the-celebrity instead of paying attention to the plot, here is a clean, episode-by-episode cheat sheet.

Quick context before the cameo safari

The series follows Aasmaan Singh, an ambitious outsider trying to break into the business while navigating all the pretty, pointy edges of showbiz. Lakshya leads as Aasmaan, with Sahher Bambba and Bobby Deol among the mains. The vibe: fast, self-aware, and openly in on the joke, with Red Chillies Entertainment backing it. Also, if you like your satire with a side of 'wait, was that...?' you are in the right place. Episode 6 basically turns into a who-isn’t-here awards-night parade, and Episode 2 has Aamir Khan and S. S. Rajamouli casually debating snack priorities. Inside baseball? Absolutely.

Who shows up where

  • Episode 1: The cameo train leaves the station early. Karan Johar pops in (and will resurface later), alongside Ranveer Singh, Disha Patani, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Shanaya Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Sara Ali Khan, and Orry.
  • Episode 2: Aamir Khan and S. S. Rajamouli share a light chat about idlis vs. vada pav, because of course they do. Badshah stops by, and Karan Johar returns.
  • Episode 3: Emraan Hashmi swings through to help Lakshya and Sahher Bambba find on-screen chemistry, at Karan Johar’s request.
  • Episode 4: Arshad Warsi shows up as a gangster (and he is not done yet). Salman Khan appears at a star-stuffed party. Karan Johar and Badshah make encore appearances.
  • Episode 5: No new faces this time, but Arshad Warsi is back, now specifically as the gangster Gafoor.
  • Episode 6: Big awards night energy and a full cameo avalanche: Siddhant Chaturvedi, Sara Ali Khan, Maheep Kapoor, Bhavana Panday, Seema Sajdeh, Neelam Kothari Soni, Shalini Passi, Disha Patani, Orry, Shanaya Kapoor, Ibrahim Ali Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Arjun Kapoor, and Shah Rukh Khan. Some of these are repeat offenders from earlier episodes, which is half the fun.
  • Episode 7: Ranbir Kapoor rolls in after Karan Johar calls him, because Karan wants Anya Singh’s character to represent Ranbir as his agent. Meta enough for you?

The essentials

'The Ba***ds of Bollywood' premiered September 18 on Netflix, produced by Red Chillies Entertainment. All seven episodes are streaming now. Netflix is pitching it as a brisk, self-aware satire with a deliberate cameo addiction. Season 2 has not been announced yet.
