We all love the classics, the Breaking Bads and the Stranger Things of the world.

But have you ever scrolled through your streaming services and felt like you've seen it all? If you have, well, this is the list just for you.

How's this for a starter? Daniel Holden gets released from death row after serving 19 years for the rape and murder of his girlfriend. DNA evidence clears him, but the small Georgia town he returns to still views him as guilty. Throughout the series, he tries to reintegrate into society, reconnect with his family, and yes, figure out if he actually committed the crime. He even gets a job at a tire store and starts dating. Not bad for a guy who hasn't seen the outside world since Y2K.

2. Please Like Me (2013-2016)

This Australian comedy-drama centers around Josh, a guy who's just realizing he's gay. On the same day he gets dumped by his girlfriend, his mum tries to commit suicide. Heavy stuff, but somehow the show turns these topics into touching, comedic moments. Josh moves back in with his mom to support her, comes out of the closet, and starts dating a guy named Geoffrey. His life's a hot mess, but he's trying.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to rob a bank? Or how about leading a cult? Well, Review is the closest you'll get to knowing. Forrest MacNeil is a critic who reviews life experiences, not food or movies. The twist? He dives in head-first, actually robbing banks and doing the other insane stuff people suggest. Yeah, it ruins his life in the process – his wife leaves him, he gets arrested – but hey, all in the name of quality TV, right?

4. Terriers (2010)

Sometimes life throws you a curveball. For Hank Dolworth, that curveball is becoming a private investigator with his best friend Britt, despite, you know, not being licensed or anything. The duo takes up a case of a murdered girl and get caught up in a convoluted land-grab scheme that involves shady businessmen and even shadier politicians. Hank and Britt aren't exactly Sherlock Holmes and Watson; they mess up and face the consequences, but they keep going.

Talk about going the extra mile for your friends. Dory, a New York hipster in her late 20s, becomes obsessed with the disappearance of a college acquaintance named Chantal. She ropes in her self-absorbed friends to help her solve the mystery. They break into houses, stalk people, and even get tangled in a weird cult.

6. Patriot (2015-2018)

John Tavner is an intelligence officer posing as a corporate engineer to prevent Iran from going nuclear. Simple, right? Not so much. The catch: John hates his undercover job. It's not all James Bond glam; he deals with PTSD, sees a therapist, and even starts writing folk songs about his covert operations. Just imagine the stakes when he has to get money to Iran without blowing his cover. It's a dark comedy that's more dark than comedy, so please consider yourself warned.

7. Happy Valley (2014-2023)

British TV has its gems, and Happy Valley is definitely one of them. Catherine Cawood is a no-nonsense police sergeant dealing with a lot: her daughter's suicide, raising her grandson, and now a kidnapping case. The twist? The kidnapper is the guy who raped her daughter. It's as much about the crime as it is about Catherine trying to hold her life together.

8. Dark (2017-2020)

You like time travel? This German show will make your head spin. Four interconnected families uncover a time travel conspiracy which spans several generations. There's a cave, a nuclear power plant, and yes, a ton of paradoxes. Characters find themselves in the 1950s, 1980s, and even the post-apocalyptic future. But be warned: this isn't some light Back to the Future type of story. People die, relationships shatter, and the stakes are, well, apocalyptic.

9. Top of the Lake (2013-2017)

When a pregnant 12-year-old girl goes missing in a small New Zealand town, detective Robin Griffin takes up the case. And this isn't just any case; it's personal. Robin herself was gang-raped as a teen. As she dives deeper, she finds that the town is a spider-web of criminal activities and secrets. There's even a women's camp led by a mysterious guru-like figure. Every stone she turns reveals another horror.

10. The Expanse (2015-2022)

Based on the novels, this good ol' sci-fi show is set in a future where humanity's colonized the solar system. Earth, Mars, and the Asteroid Belt are on the brink of war, and a conspiracy involving a mysterious tech threatens to spark it. Detective Miller and ship captain Holden stumble upon this secret and are thrust into a race against time to stop a conflict that could annihilate humanity. And no, this isn't Star Trek; it's darker, grittier, and way more political.
